1 ORA, dopo queste cose, avvenne che, avendo Absalom, figliuolo di Davide, una sorella molto bella, il cui nome era Tamar, Amnon figliuolo di Davide, se ne innamorò.

2 Samuel 13:1

And it came to pass after this
After the sin of David with Bathsheba, his repentance for it, and pardon of it, and the birth of Solomon as a token of reconciliation; yet after all this the divine threatenings must take place; they had begun already in the death of the child begotten in adultery, and others here follow:

that Absalom the son of David had a fair sister, whose name [was]
Tamar;
she was his sister both by father and mother's side; the mother o, f them was Maacah, the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur; she was a very comely person, her name signifies a palm tree:

and Amnon the son of David loved her;
not in an honourable way, to make her his wife, but in a lustful manner, to make an harlot of her; he was David's eldest son by Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, ( 2 Samuel 3:2 ) .

1 ORA, dopo queste cose, avvenne che, avendo Absalom, figliuolo di Davide, una sorella molto bella, il cui nome era Tamar, Amnon figliuolo di Davide, se ne innamorò.
2 Ed Amnon era in grande ansietà, fino ad infermare, per amor di Tamar, sua sorella; perciocchè ella era vergine, e gli parea troppo difficil cosa di farle nulla.
3 Or Amnon avea un famigliare amico, il cui nome era Ionadab, figliuolo di Sima, fratello di Davide; e Ionadab era uomo molto accorto.
4 Ed esso gli disse: Perchè vai tu così dimagrando ogni mattina, o figliuol del re? non me lo dichiarerai tu? Ed Amnon gli disse: Io amo Tamar, sorella di Absalom, mio fratello.
5 E Ionadab gli disse: Mettiti in letto, e fatti infermo: e, quando tuo padre verrà a visitarti, digli: Deh! venga Tamar, mia sorella, e mi dia da mangiare alcuna vivanda, apparecchiandomela in mia presenza; acciocchè, vedutagliela apparecchiare, io la mangi di sua mano.
