27 E quant’è al paese, al quale essi hanno l’animo intento, per tornarvi, non vi torneranno.

Jeremiah 22:27

But to the land whereunto they desire to return
Or, "lift up their soul to return" ^F3: either by making supplication to God, for it, ( Psalms 25:1 ) ; or buoying up themselves with vain hopes, founded upon the declarations of the false prophets, that they should return; and to which no doubt they had a natural desire, and comforted themselves with the hopes of it; but all in vain: thither shall they not return;
for they were to die, as before predicted, in another country, as they did, and never saw their own any more.

25 e ti darò in man di quelli che cercano l’anima tua, e in man di quelli de’ quali tu hai spavento, e in man di Nebucadnesar, re di Babilonia, e in man de’ Caldei.

26 E caccerò te, e tua madre che ti ha partorito, in un paese strano, dove non siete nati; e quivi morrete.

27 E quant’è al paese, al quale essi hanno l’animo intento, per tornarvi, non vi torneranno.

28 È quest’uomo Conia un idolo sprezzato, e rotto in pezzi? è egli un vaso, del quale non si fa stima alcuna? perchè dunque sono stati cacciati egli, e la sua progenie, e gettati in un paese, che non conoscono?

29 O paese, o paese, o paese, ascolta la parola del Signore!
