14 Il Signore verrà in giudicio contro agli anziani del suo popolo, e contro a’ principi di esso; voi siete pur quelli che avete guasta la vigna; la preda del povero è nelle vostre case.

Isaiah 3:14

The Lord will enter into judgment with the ancients of his
people, and the princes thereof
Both civil and ecclesiastical; the princes, chief priests, and elders of the people, who set themselves and took counsel together against the Lord and his Christ; would not suffer the people to be gathered to him; sought his life, and at last took it away. For ye have eaten up the vineyard,
or burnt it F16; the house of Israel, and of Judah compared to a vineyard, in a following chapter; and so the Targum, ``ye have oppressed my people;'' these are the husbandmen our Lord speaks of, that beat the servants that were sent for the fruits of the vineyard, and at last killed the heir, ( Matthew 21:34-41 ) . The spoil of the poor [is] in your houses;
the Pharisees devoured widows' houses, and filled their own, with the spoil of them, ( Matthew 23:14 ) .

12 Gli oppressatori del mio popolo sono fanciulli, e donne lo signoreggiano. Popol mio, quelli che ti predicano beato ti fanno traviare, e fanno andare in perdizione la via de’ tuoi sentieri.
13 Il Signore comparisce, per contendere; e si presenta, per giudicare i popoli.
14 Il Signore verrà in giudicio contro agli anziani del suo popolo, e contro a’ principi di esso; voi siete pur quelli che avete guasta la vigna; la preda del povero è nelle vostre case.
15 Perchè tritate il mio popolo, e pestate le facce dei poveri? dice il Signore, il Signor degli eserciti.
16 Oltre a ciò, il Signore ha detto: Perciocchè le figliuole di Sion si sono innalzate, e son camminate a gola stesa, ed ammiccando con gli occhi; e son camminate carolando, ed hanno fatto tintinno co’ lor piedi;
