42 POI, essendo già sera perciocchè era la preparazione, cioè l’antisabato,

Mark 15:42

And now when the even was come
"Of the preparation", as the Syriac version reads; or "the night of the sixth day":, as the Persic version renders it, "Friday" night:

because it was the preparation;
of the passover, and of the sabbath, when they prepared their food, and got it ready for the ensuing sabbath, on which it was not lawful to dress any;

that is, the day before the sabbath;
that is, Friday; on which day, it is clear, Christ suffered, died, and was buried.

40 Or quivi erano ancora delle donne, riguardando da lontano; fra le quali era Maria Maddalena, e Maria madre di Giacomo il piccolo, e di Iose, e Salome;
41 le quali, eziandio mentre egli era nella Galilea, l’aveano seguitato, e gli aveano ministrato; e molte altre, le quali erano salite con lui in Gerusalemme.
42 POI, essendo già sera perciocchè era la preparazione, cioè l’antisabato,
43 Giuseppe, da Arimatea, consigliere onorato, il quale eziandio aspettava il regno di Dio, venne, e, preso ardire, entrò da Pilato, e domandò il corpo di Gesù.
44 E Pilato si maravigliò ch’egli fosse già morto. E chiamato a sè il centurione, gli domandò se era gran tempo ch’egli era morto;
