2 Crónicas 33:20 Meaning and Commentary

Ver. 20-25. So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him
in his own house
That is, in the garden of his house, (See Gill on 2 Kings 21:18); there; to which may be added, that the Jews ^F19 in later times buried in a garden; though it was the custom of the ancients, both Greeks ^F20 and Romans ^F21, to bury the dead in their own houses; hence sprung the worship of the Lares and Penates, the household gods: from hence to the end of the chapter is the same with ( 2 Kings 21:18-26 ) .

18 Los demás hechos de Manasés, y su oración a su Dios, y las palabras de los videntes que le hablaron en nombre del SEÑOR Dios de Israel, he aquí todo está escrito en los hechos de los reyes de Israel

19 Su oración también, y cómo fue oído, todos sus pecados, y su prevaricación, los sitios donde edificó lugares altos y había puesto bosques e ídolos antes que se humillara, he aquí estas cosas están escritas en las palabras de los videntes

20 Y durmió Manasés con sus padres, y lo sepultaron en su casa; y reinó en su lugar Amón su hijo

21 De veintidós años era Amón cuando comenzó a reinar, y dos años reinó en Jerusalén

22 E hizo lo malo ante los ojos del SEÑOR, como había hecho Manasés su padre; porque a todos los ídolos que su padre Manasés había hecho, sacrificó y sirvió Amón
