Acts 25:26

26 I do not have anything definite to write to [my] lord about {him}. Therefore I have brought him before you [all]--and especially before you, King Agrippa--so that [after] this preliminary hearing has taken place, I may have something to write.

Acts 25:26

Of whom I have no certain thing
No certain crime, charge, or accusation; nothing of any moment or consequence, no particular thing, nothing but a heap of confused notions, of I know not who or what:

to write unto my lord;
meaning the Roman emperor, under whom he served as governor of Judea:

wherefore I have brought him before you;
the whole company then present:

and especially before thee, O King Agrippa;
as being not only a man of eminence, dignity, and authority, but of knowledge in such matters, which the Jews accused Paul of; see ( Acts 26:2 Acts 26:3 ) .

That after examination had;
of Paul, and his case;

I might have somewhat to write;
concerning him, and the charges exhibited against him to the emperor.

24 And Festus said, "King Agrippa and all who are present with us, you see this man about whom the whole population of the Jews appealed to me, both in Jerusalem and here, shouting [that] he must not live any longer.

25 But I understood [that] he had done nothing deserving death himself, and [when] this man appealed to His Majesty the Emperor, I decided to send [him].

26 I do not have anything definite to write to [my] lord about {him}. Therefore I have brought him before you [all]--and especially before you, King Agrippa--so that [after] this preliminary hearing has taken place, I may have something to write.

27 For it seems unreasonable to me to send a prisoner and not to indicate the charges against him."
