Esdras 9:2

2 Pues los hombres de Israel se han casado con mujeres de esos pueblos y también las han tomado como esposas para sus hijos. De manera que la raza santa se ha corrompido a causa de esos matrimonios mixtos. Peor aún, los primeros en cometer este ultraje han sido los líderes y los funcionarios».

Ezra 9:2

For they have taken of their daughters for themselves, and for
their sorts
Some that were widowers not only took wives to themselves of the above nations, either when they were of Babylon, where many of these nations also were, or rather since their return; but they took for their sons also; yea, some that had wives took Heathenish ones to them, see ( Malachi 2:13-15 ) ,

so that the holy seed;
such as the Lord had separated from other nations, chosen them to be an holy people above all others, and devoted them to his service and worship:

have mingled themselves with the people of those lands;
before mentioned, by marrying with them:

yea, the hand of the princes and rulers hath been chief in this
trespass;
they were the first that went into it, were ringleaders of it, who should by their authority and example have restrained others; or they were

in this first trespass

1 Oración de Esdras acerca de los matrimonios mixtos
Una vez realizadas estas cosas, los líderes judíos vinieron a verme y dijeron: «Muchos del pueblo de Israel e incluso algunos sacerdotes y levitas no se han mantenido separados de los otros pueblos que viven en esta tierra. Han adoptado las prácticas detestables de los cananeos, los hititas, los ferezeos, los jebuseos, los amonitas, los moabitas, los egipcios y los amorreos.

2 Pues los hombres de Israel se han casado con mujeres de esos pueblos y también las han tomado como esposas para sus hijos. De manera que la raza santa se ha corrompido a causa de esos matrimonios mixtos. Peor aún, los primeros en cometer este ultraje han sido los líderes y los funcionarios».

3 Al oír esto, me rasgué el manto y la camisa, me arranqué el pelo de la cabeza y de la barba, y me senté completamente horrorizado.

4 Entonces todos los que temblaban ante las palabras del Dios de Israel vinieron y se sentaron conmigo a causa de este ultraje cometido por los que habían regresado del destierro. Allí me quedé sentado, totalmente horrorizado, hasta la hora del sacrificio de la tarde.

5 A la hora del sacrificio, me levanté de donde había estado sentado haciendo duelo con mis ropas rasgadas. Caí de rodillas y levanté las manos al Señor
mi Dios.
