4 De pronto, estaba allí la gloria del Dios de Israel, tal como yo la había visto antes en el valle.

Ezekiel 8:4

And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel [was] there
In the temple, between the cherubim, where the Shechinah or the glory of the divine Majesty dwelt; for as yet he had not removed, though provoked to it, and as he afterwards did; or he was here to destroy the idols, and both city and temple, for the idolatry of the people; or this is here mentioned, to show the baseness and wickedness of the people, that they should place an idol where the Lord himself was: according to the vision that I saw in the plain;
it was the same glorious Person he saw in the temple whom he had before seen in the plain, ( Ezekiel 3:22 Ezekiel 3:23 ) ; and that was the same he had seen in the vision by the river Chebar, ( Ezekiel 1:3 Ezekiel 1:28 ) .

2 Vi una figura con apariencia de hombre. De lo que parecía ser su cintura para abajo, parecía una llama encendida. De la cintura para arriba, tenía aspecto de ámbar reluciente.

3 Extendió algo que parecía ser una mano y me tomó del cabello. Luego el Espíritu me elevó al cielo y me transportó a Jerusalén en una visión que procedía de Dios. Me llevó a la puerta norte del atrio interior del templo, donde hay un ídolo grande que ha provocado los celos del Señor

4 De pronto, estaba allí la gloria del Dios de Israel, tal como yo la había visto antes en el valle.

5 Entonces el Señor
me dijo: «Hijo de hombre, mira hacia el norte». Así que miré hacia el norte y, junto a la entrada de la puerta que está cerca del altar, estaba el ídolo que tanto había provocado los celos del Señor
.

6 «Hijo de hombre —me dijo—, ¿ves lo que hacen? ¿Ves los pecados detestables que cometen los israelitas para sacarme de mi templo? ¡Pero ven y verás pecados aún más detestables que estos!».
