Marcos 10:3 Meaning and Commentary

Mark 10:3

And he answered and said unto them
Very prudently and wisely,

what did Moses command you?
according to Matthew, he put another question to them; see ( Matthew 19:4 ) ; no doubt but both were put, and this after they had urged the authority and law of Moses: and therefore be very pertinently asks them, what Moses had said about divorces, what law he had left; and puts them upon producing and repeating it, that the sense of it might be examined, and it be considered, upon what account it was given.

1 Discusión acerca del divorcio y del matrimonio
Luego Jesús salió de Capernaúm, descendió a la región de Judea y entró en la zona que está al oriente del río Jordán. Una vez más, las multitudes lo rodearon, y él les enseñaba como de costumbre.
2 Unos fariseos se acercaron y trataron de tenderle una trampa con la siguiente pregunta:
—¿Está bien permitir que un hombre se divorcie de su esposa?
3 Jesús les contestó con otra pregunta:
4 —Bueno, él lo permitió —contestaron—. Dijo que un hombre puede darle a su esposa un aviso de divorcio por escrito y despedirla.
5 Jesús les respondió:
