18 Entonces Asá tomó todo el oro y la plata que habían quedado en los tesoros del templo del SEÑOR y de su propio palacio, y les encargó a sus funcionarios que se los llevaran a Ben Adad, hijo de Tabrimón y nieto de Hezión, rey de Siria, que estaba gobernando en Damasco. Y le envió este mensaje:

1 Kings 15:18

Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left
in the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of
the king's house
What was left untaken away by Shishak king of Egypt, ( 1 Kings 14:26 ) , or what he had put there dedicated by his father and himself, ( 1 Kings 15:15 ) and be they either, they were not to be taken, especially the treasures of the house of the Lord, and put to profane use, and particularly to such bad purposes as these were:

and delivered them into the hands of his servants:
to be disposed of as next directed:

and King Asa sent them to Benhadad the son of Tabrimon, the son of
Hezion king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus;
according to some chronologers ^F23, Hezion, the grandfather of this Benhadad, is the same with Rezon the first king of Damascus, ( 1 Kings 11:23 1 Kings 11:24 ) , who was succeeded by Tabrimon, and he by Benhadad:

16 Durante los reinados de Asá y Basá, rey de Israel, hubo guerra entre ellos.

17 Basá, rey de Israel, atacó a Judá y fortificó Ramá para aislar totalmente a Asá, rey de Judá.

18 Entonces Asá tomó todo el oro y la plata que habían quedado en los tesoros del templo del SEÑOR y de su propio palacio, y les encargó a sus funcionarios que se los llevaran a Ben Adad, hijo de Tabrimón y nieto de Hezión, rey de Siria, que estaba gobernando en Damasco. Y le envió este mensaje:

19 «Hagamos tú y yo un tratado como el que antes hicieron tu padre y el mío. Aquí te envío un presente de oro y plata. Anula tu tratado con Basá, rey de Israel, para que se marche de aquí».

20 Ben Adad estuvo de acuerdo con el rey Asá y envió a los jefes de su ejército para que atacaran las ciudades de Israel. Así conquistó Iyón, Dan, Abel Betmacá y todo Quinéret, además de Neftalí.
