Deuteronomio 2:6 Meaning and Commentary

Ver. 6 Ye shall buy meat of them for money, that ye may eat
That is, if they would, as Aben Ezra observes; for though they had manna daily, yet if they would they might buy other food when they had an opportunity, as they would now have of Edom; but then they were not to take it by force or stealth, but pay for it, which they were able to do. The same writer observes, that some read the words with an interrogation, "shall ye buy meat?" no, there is no need of it; for the Lord had blessed them with a sufficiency of it:

and ye shall also buy water of them for money; that ye may drink;
which was usual in those hot countries; (See Gill on Numbers 20:19) or dig water

4 Dale estas órdenes al pueblo: ‘Pronto pasarán ustedes por el territorio de sus hermanos, los descendientes de Esaú, que viven en Seír. Aunque ellos les tienen miedo a ustedes, tengan mucho cuidado;

5 no peleen con ellos, porque no les daré a ustedes ninguna porción de su territorio, ni siquiera el lugar donde ustedes planten el pie. A Esaú le he dado por herencia la región montañosa de Seír.

6 Páguenles todo el alimento y el agua que ustedes consuman’”.

7 »Bien saben que el SEÑOR su Dios los ha bendecido en todo lo que han emprendido, y los ha cuidado por todo este inmenso desierto. Durante estos cuarenta años, el SEÑOR su Dios ha estado con ustedes y no les ha faltado nada.

8 »Así que bordeamos el territorio de nuestros hermanos, los descendientes de Esaú, que viven en Seír. Seguimos la ruta del Arabá, que viene desde Elat y Ezión Guéber. Luego dimos vuelta y viajamos por la ruta del desierto de Moab.
