14 Pero decidí actuar en honor a mi nombre, para que no fuera profanado ante las naciones, las cuales me vieron sacarlos de Egipto.

Ezekiel 20:14

But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be
polluted before the Heathen (See Gill on Ezekiel 20:9); who would be ready to say it was for want of power, or faithfulness, or, goodness, that he did not bring them into the promised land; or there was no such land to bring them to God's own glory was concerned, and that is his ultimate end in all he does; and is of more weight with him than any other argument whatever: in whose sight I brought them out;
from Egypt, into the wilderness; this was done publicly in the sight of the Egyptians, they urging them to be gone.

12 También les di mis sábados como una señal entre ellos y yo, para que reconocieran que yo, el SEÑOR, he consagrado los sábados para mí.

13 Pero el pueblo de Israel se rebeló contra mí en el desierto; desobedeció mis decretos y rechazó mis leyes, que son vida para quienes los obedecen. ¡Hasta el colmo profanaron mis sábados! Por eso, cuando estaban en el desierto, pensé descargar mi ira sobre ellos y exterminarlos.

15 »”También con la mano en alto, en el desierto les juré que no los llevaría a la tierra que les había dado, ¡la tierra más hermosa de todas, donde abundan la leche y la miel!

16 Rechazaron mis leyes, desobedecieron mis decretos y profanaron mis sábados, ¡y todo esto lo hicieron por haber andado tras esos ídolos!
