27 Por isso o rei Roboão mandou fazer escudos de bronze para substituí-los e os entregou aos chefes da guarda da entrada do palácio real.

1 Kings 14:27

And King Rehoboam made in their stead brazen shields
For the king of Egypt had so stripped him of his gold, that he was not able to replace golden ones:

and committed them into the hands of the chief of the guard;
or "runners" F16, that went before the king, or attended him as his bodyguard when he went abroad:

which kept the door of the king's house;
which kept guard night and day in their turns.

25 No quinto ano do reinado de Roboão, Sisaque, rei do Egito, atacou Jerusalém.
26 Levou embora todos os tesouros do templo do SENHOR e do palácio real, inclusive os escudos de ouro que Salomão havia feito.
27 Por isso o rei Roboão mandou fazer escudos de bronze para substituí-los e os entregou aos chefes da guarda da entrada do palácio real.
28 Sempre que o rei ia ao templo do SENHOR, os guardas empunhavam os escudos e, em seguida, os devolviam à sala da guarda.
29 Os demais acontecimentos do reinado de Roboão, e tudo o que fez, estão escritos nos registros históricos dos reis de Judá.
