Deuteronomy 9:20

And the Lord was very angry with Aaron, to have destroyed him,
&c.] For complying with the request of the people in making a calf for them, and for that miserable shift he made to excuse himself; which so provoked the Lord, that he threatened to destroy him, and he was in danger of being cut off, had it not been for the intercession of Moses:

and I prayed for Aaron also the same time:
who either was included in the general prayer for the people, ( Exodus 32:31 ) or a particular prayer was made for him, though not recorded, and which also succeeded.

18 “Depois prostrei-me perante o SENHOR outros quarenta dias e quarenta noites; não comi pão, nem bebi água, por causa do grande pecado que vocês tinham cometido, fazendo o que o SENHOR reprova, provocando a ira dele.
19 Tive medo da ira e do furor do SENHOR, pois ele estava irado ao ponto de destruí-los, mas de novo o SENHOR me escutou.
20 O SENHOR irou-se contra Arão a ponto de querer destruí-lo, mas naquela ocasião também orei por Arão.
21 Então peguei o bezerro, o bezerro do pecado de vocês, e o queimei no fogo; depois o esmigalhei e o moí até virar pó e o joguei no riacho que desce do monte.
22 “Além disso, vocês tornaram a provocar a ira do SENHOR em Taberá, em Massá e em Quibrote-Hataavá.
