1 Clamo a Deus por socorro;clamo a Deus que me escute.

1 I cried out to God for help; I cried out to God to hear me.

2 Quando estou angustiado, busco o Senhor;de noite estendo as mãos sem cessar;a minha alma está inconsolável!

2 When I was in distress, I sought the Lord; at night I stretched out untiring hands, and I would not be comforted.

3 Lembro-me de ti, ó Deus, e suspiro;começo a meditar, e o meu espírito desfalece.

3 I remembered you, God, and I groaned; I meditated, and my spirit grew faint.

4 Não me permites fechar os olhos;tão inquieto estou que não consigo falar.

4 You kept my eyes from closing; I was too troubled to speak.

5 Fico a pensar nos dias que se foram,nos anos há muito passados;

5 I thought about the former days, the years of long ago;

6 de noite recordo minhas canções.O meu coração medita, e o meu espírito pergunta:

6 I remembered my songs in the night. My heart meditated and my spirit asked:

7 Irá o Senhor rejeitar-nos para sempre?Jamais tornará a mostrar-nos o seu favor?

7 “Will the Lord reject forever? Will he never show his favor again?

8 Desapareceu para sempre o seu amor?Acabou-se a sua promessa?

8 Has his unfailing love vanished forever? Has his promise failed for all time?

9 Esqueceu-se Deus de ser misericordioso?Em sua ira refreou sua compaixão?

9 Has God forgotten to be merciful? Has he in anger withheld his compassion?”

10 Então pensei: “A razão da minha doré que a mão direita do Altíssimo não age mais”.

10 Then I thought, “To this I will appeal: the years when the Most High stretched out his right hand.

11 Recordarei os feitos do SENHOR;recordarei os teus antigos milagres.

11 I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.

12 Meditarei em todas as tuas obrase considerarei todos os teus feitos.

12 I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds.”

13 Teus caminhos, ó Deus, são santos.Que deus é tão grande como o nosso Deus?

13 Your ways, God, are holy. What god is as great as our God?

14 Tu és o Deus que realiza milagres;mostras o teu poder entre os povos.

14 You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.

15 Com o teu braço forte resgataste o teu povo,os descendentes de Jacó e de José.

15 With your mighty arm you redeemed your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph.

16 As águas te viram, ó Deus,as águas te viram e se contorceram;até os abismos estremeceram.

16 The waters saw you, God, the waters saw you and writhed; the very depths were convulsed.

17 As nuvens despejaram chuvas,ressoou nos céus o trovão;as tuas flechas reluziam em todas as direções.

17 The clouds poured down water, the heavens resounded with thunder; your arrows flashed back and forth.

18 No redemoinho, estrondou o teu trovão,os teus relâmpagos iluminaram o mundo;a terra tremeu e sacudiu-se.

18 Your thunder was heard in the whirlwind, your lightning lit up the world; the earth trembled and quaked.

19 A tua vereda passou pelo mar,o teu caminho pelas águas poderosas,e ninguém viu as tuas pegadas.

19 Your path led through the sea, your way through the mighty waters, though your footprints were not seen.

20 Guiaste o teu povo como a um rebanhopela mão de Moisés e de Arão.

20 You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
