Isaías 64:1-6

Listen to Isaías 64:1-6
1 ¡Oh, si rompiese los cielos, y descendieras, y a tu presencia se escurriesen los montes,
2 como fuego que abrasando derrite, fuego que hace hervir el agua, para que hicieras notorio tu nombre a tus enemigos, y los gentiles temblasen a tu presencia!
3 Como descendiste, cuando hiciste cosas terribles cuales nunca esperábamos, que los montes escurrieron delante de ti.
4 Ni nunca oyeron, ni oídos percibieron; ni ojo ha visto Dios fuera de ti, que hiciese otro tanto por el que en él espera.
5 Saliste al encuentro al que con alegría obró justicia. En tus caminos se acordaban de ti. He aquí, tú te enojaste porque pecamos; tus caminos son eternos y nosotros seremos salvos.
6 Que todos nosotros eramos como suciedad, y todas nuestras justicias como trapo de inmundicia; y caímos todos nosotros como la hoja del árbol ; y nuestras maldades nos llevaron como viento.

INTRODUCTION TO ISAIAH 64

The prayer of the church is continued in this chapter; in which she prays for some visible display of the power and presence of God, as in times past, Isa 64:1-3, and the rather, since unheard of and unseen things were prepared by the Lord for his people; and it was his usual way to meet those that were truly religious, Isa 64:4,5, and she acknowledges her sins and transgressions; the imperfections of her own righteousness, and remissness in duty, Isa 64:5-7, pleads relation to God, and implores his mercy, Isa 64:8,9, represents the desolate condition of Judea, Zion, Jerusalem, and the temple, and entreats divine commiseration, Isa 64:10-12.
