


The “merciful” do not pre-judge someone. We look for the best in people – not the worst. The “merciful” person is slow to condemn and quick to commend. Do not rebuke a person until you have wept for that person.

So far weʼve learned that there are at least two fundamental threads that weave through this epistle: Divine love and avoiding deception. Remember, John often referred to himself as “the disciple whom Jesus loved.” Now weʼre learning even more about the depth of that godly love; If we are true disciples of the Messiah, then we are to be willing to lay down our lives for fellow believers. Sounds like a tall order, but not in the greater context of being one of His followers!

True servants think of others before themselves. And true servants create an impact - where God's power is released through them. Do you want to be an impact servant?
