14 But going on from Perga, they arrived at 1Pisidian 2Antioch, and on 3the Sabbath day they went into 4the synagogue and sat down.
15 After 5the reading of the Law and 6the Prophets 7the synagogue officials sent to them, saying, "Brethren *, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, say it."
16 Paul stood up, and 8motioning with his hand said, "Men of Israel, and 9 you who fear God, listen:
17 "The God of this people Israel 10chose our fathers and 11made the people great during their stay in the land of Egypt, and with an uplifted arm 12He led them out from it.
18 "For 13a period of about forty years 14He put up with them in the wilderness.
19 "15When He had destroyed 16seven nations in the land of Canaan, He 17distributed their land as an inheritance -all of which took 18about four hundred and fifty years.
20 "After these things He 19gave them judges until 20Samuel the prophet.
21 "Then they 21asked for a king, and God gave them 22Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years.
22 "After He had 23removed him, He raised up David to be their king, concerning whom He also testified and said, '24I HAVE FOUND DAVID the son of Jesse, A MAN AFTER MY HEART, who will do all My will.'
23 "25From the descendants of this man, 26according to promise, God has brought to Israel 27a Savior, Jesus,
24 after 28John had proclaimed before His coming * a 29baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.
