Surely you desire truth in the inner partsa; you teachb me wisdom1 in the inmost place.27
Cleanse3 me with hyssop,4 and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.58
Let me hear joy and gladness;6 let the bones7 you have crushed rejoice.
Hide your face from my sins8 and blot out9 all my iniquity.
Create in me a pure heart,10 O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.1111
Do not cast me12 from your presence13 or take your Holy Spirit14 from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation15 and grant me a willing spirit,16 to sustain me.1713
Then I will teach transgressors your ways,18 and sinners19 will turn back to you.2014
Save me21 from bloodguilt,22 O God, the God who saves me,23 and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.2415
O Lord, open my lips,25 and my mouth will declare your praise.
You do not delight in sacrifice,26 or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.
