19 Y envi贸 Israel embajadores 谩 Seh贸n rey de los Amorrheos, rey de Hesb贸n, dici茅ndole: Ru茅gote que me dejes pasar por tu tierra hasta mi lugar.
20 Mas Seh贸n no se fi贸 de Israel para darle paso por su t茅rmino; antes juntando Seh贸n toda su gente, puso campo en Jaas, y pele贸 contra Israel.
21 Empero Jehov谩 el Dios de Israel entreg贸 谩 Seh贸n y 谩 todo su pueblo en mano de Israel, y venci贸los: y posey贸 Israel toda la tierra del Amorrheo que habitaba en aquel pa铆s.
22 Poseyeron tambi茅n todo el t茅rmino del Amorrheo desde Arn贸n hasta Jaboc, y desde el desierto hasta el Jord谩n.
23 As铆 que Jehov谩 el Dios de Israel ech贸 los Amorrheos delante de su pueblo Israel: 驴y lo has de poseer t煤?
24 Si Ch锚mos tu Dios te echase alguno, 驴no lo poseer铆as t煤? As铆 poseeremos nosotros 谩 todo aquel que ech贸 Jehov谩 nuestro Dios de delante de nosotros.
25 驴Eres t煤 ahora en algo mejor que Balac hijo de Sephor, rey de Moab? 驴tuvo 茅l cuesti贸n contra Israel, 贸 hizo guerra contra ellos?
26 Cuando Israel ha estado habitando por trescientos a帽os 谩 Hesb贸n y sus aldeas, 谩 Aroer y sus aldeas, y todas las ciudades que est谩n 谩 los t茅rminos de Arn贸n, 驴por qu茅 no las hab茅is reclamado en ese tiempo?
27 As铆 que, yo nada he pecado contra ti, mas t煤 haces mal conmigo haci茅ndome guerra: Jehov谩, que es el juez, juzgue hoy entre los hijos de Israel y los hijos de Amm贸n.
28 Mas el rey de los hijos de Amm贸n no atendi贸 las razones de Jepht茅 que le envi贸.
29 Y el esp铆ritu de Jehov谩 fu茅 sobre Jepht茅: y pas贸 por Galaad y Manas茅s; y de all铆 pas贸 谩 Mizpa de Galaad; y de Mizpa de Galaad pas贸 谩 los hijos de Amm贸n.

INTRODUCTION TO JUDGES 11

This chapter gives an account of another judge of Israel, Jephthah, of his descent and character, Jud 11:1-3 of the call the elders of Gilead gave him to be their captain general, and lead out their forces against the Ammonites, and the agreement he made with them, Jud 11:4-11 of the message he sent to the children of Ammon, which brought on a dispute between him and them about the land Israel possessed on that side Jordan the Ammonites claimed; Israel's right to which Jephthah defended, and made it clearly to appear, hoping thereby to put an end to the quarrel without shedding of blood, Jud 11:12-27 but the children of Ammon not attending to what he said, he prepared to give them battle, and previous to it he made a vow, and then set forward and fought them, and got the victory over them, Jud 11:28-33 and the chapter concludes with the difficulties Jephthah was embarrassed with upon his return home, on account of his vow, and the performance of it, Jud 11:34-40.
