8 Were not the Cushites^[a] and Libyans a mighty army with great numbers of chariots and horsemen^[b]? Yet when you relied on the LORD, he delivered them into your hand.

8 Don’t you remember what happened to the Ethiopians and Libyans and their vast army, with all of their chariots and charioteers? At that time you relied on the LORD, and he handed them over to you.

8 Didn't the Ethiopians and Libyans come against you with superior forces, completely outclassing you with their chariots and cavalry? But you asked God for help and he gave you the victory.

8 Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubim a huge host, with chariots and horsemen exceeding many? yet, because thou didst rely on Jehovah, he delivered them into thy hand.

8 Weren't the Sudanese and Libyans a large army with many chariots and drivers? But when you depended on the LORD, he handed them over to you.

8 Were not the Cushites and Libyans a vast army with very many chariots and horsemen? When you depended on the Lord, He handed them over to you.

8 The people of Cush and Libya had a strong army. They had large numbers of chariots and horsemen. But you trusted in the Lord. So he handed them over to you.

2 Chronicles 16:8

Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubim a huge host, with very
many chariots and horsemen?
&c.] They were no less than 1,000,000 men, and three hundred chariots, ( 2 Chronicles 14:9 ) , the Lubim were the Libyans, a people near Egypt, that dwelt in Africa; according to an Arabic writer ^F12, they were the Nubians:

yet, because thou didst rely on the Lord, he delivered them into thine
hand;
and with equal ease could and would have delivered the Syrian army unto him, had he as then trusted in the Lord.

6 Then King Asa brought all the men of Judah, and they carried away from Ramah the stones and timber Baasha had been using. With them he built up Geba and Mizpah.

7 At that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah and said to him: “Because you relied on the king of Aram and not on the LORD your God, the army of the king of Aram has escaped from your hand.

8 Were not the Cushites and Libyans a mighty army with great numbers of chariots and horsemen? Yet when you relied on the LORD, he delivered them into your hand.

9 For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. You have done a foolish thing, and from now on you will be at war.”

10 Asa was angry with the seer because of this; he was so enraged that he put him in prison. At the same time Asa brutally oppressed some of the people.
