10:11 “Almug wood” is traditionally identified as sandalwood (Pterocarpus santalinus), imported from India. Elsewhere almug was said to be native to Lebanon (2Ch 2:8), suggesting that it may refer to juniper (Juniperus phoenicea excelsa).
