8 眾 人 看 見 都 驚 奇 ， 就 歸 榮 耀 與 神 ， 因 為 他 將 這 樣 的 權 柄 賜 給 人 。

Matthew 9:8

But when the multitude saw it
The miracle that was wrought; when they saw the man take up his bed, and carry it home, which was done by Christ, as a proof of his having power to forgive sin,

they marvelled, and glorified God:
they were struck with amazement and astonishment at the sight, it being what was strange and unusual; the like to which they had never seen before, nor heard of: and concluding it to be more than human; they ascribed it to God; they praised, and adored the divine goodness,

which had given such power unto men;
of working miracles, healing diseases, and delivering miserable mortals from such maladies, as were otherwise incurable; still looking upon Christ as a mere man, by whom God did these things; not knowing yet the mystery of the incarnation, God manifest in the flesh.

6 但 要 叫 你 們 知 道 ， 人 子 在 地 上 有 赦 罪 的 權 柄 ； 就 對 癱 子 說 ： 起 來 ！ 拿 你 的 褥 子 回 家 去 罷 。

7 那 人 就 起 來 ， 回 家 去 了 。

8 眾 人 看 見 都 驚 奇 ， 就 歸 榮 耀 與 神 ， 因 為 他 將 這 樣 的 權 柄 賜 給 人 。

9 耶 穌 從 那 裡 往 前 走 ， 看 見 一 個 人 名 叫 馬 太 ， 坐 在 稅 關 上 ， 就 對 他 說 ： 你 跟 從 我 來 。 他 就 起 來 跟 從 了 耶 穌 。

10 耶 穌 在 屋 裡 坐 席 的 時 候 ， 有 好 些 稅 吏 和 罪 人 來 ， 與 耶 穌 和 他 的 門 徒 一 同 坐 席 。
