1 Samuel 17:30

And he turned from him towards another
From his brother Eliab, to another person right against him, and directed his discourse to him:

and spake after the same manner:
as in ( 1 Samuel 17:26 ) ; inquiring what encouragement would he given to a man that should attempt to kill the Philistine, and expressing his concern to hear the armies of the living God defied by such a wretch:

and the people answered him again after the former manner;
telling him what gratuities and honours would be conferred on such a person, as in ( 1 Samuel 17:25 ) ; and the design of his talking to one, and to another, was, that what he had said might spread and reach to the ears of Saul, to whom in modesty he did not choose to apply himself.

28 Und Eliab, sein ältester Bruder, hörte ihn reden mit den Männern und ergrimmte mit Zorn wider David und sprach: Warum bist du herabgekommen? und wem hast du die wenigen Schafe dort in der Wüste gelassen? Ich kenne deine Vermessenheit wohl und deines Herzens Bosheit. Denn du bist herabgekommen, daß du den Streit sehest. {~}

29 David antwortete: Was habe ich dir nun getan? Ist mir's nicht befohlen?

30 und wandte sich von ihm gegen einen andern und sprach, wie er vorhin gesagt hatte. Da antwortete ihm das Volk wie vorhin.

31 Und da sie die Worte hörten, die David sagte, verkündigten sie es vor Saul, und er ließ ihn holen.

32 Und David sprach zu Saul: Es entfalle keinem Menschen das Herz um deswillen; Dein Knecht soll hingehen und mit dem Philister streiten.
