Esdras 5:16

16 Então Sesbazar veio e lançou os alicerces do templo de Deus em Jerusalém. Desde aquele dia o templo tem estado em construção, mas ainda não foi concluído’.

Ezra 5:16

Then came the same Sheshbazzar, and laid the foundation of the
house of God which is in Jerusalem
Which makes it clear, that by Sheshbazzar is meant Zerubbabel; for he it was that laid the foundation of the temple, or at least by whose order it was laid, see ( Zechariah 4:9 )

and since that time even until now;
from the first of Cyrus to the second of Darius, a space of about eighteen years, and just seventy from the destruction of the temple:

hath it been in building, and yet it is not finished;
the work going on slowly, not without interruption and intermission, through the enmity of the Samaritans unto them, who had made false representations of them; but these men, Tatnai and those with him, as the Jews gave them a very particular account of things, as above, so they fairly and fully related them in this their letter to the king.

14 Ele até mesmo tirou do templo da Babilônia os utensílios de ouro e de prata da casa de Deus, os quais Nabucodonosor havia tirado do templo de Jerusalém e levado para o templo da Babilônia.“ ‘O rei Ciro os confiou a um homem chamado Sesbazar, que ele tinha nomeado governador,

15 e lhe disse: “Leve estes utensílios, coloque-os no templo de Jerusalém e reconstrua a casa de Deus em seu antigo local”.

16 Então Sesbazar veio e lançou os alicerces do templo de Deus em Jerusalém. Desde aquele dia o templo tem estado em construção, mas ainda não foi concluído’.

17 “Agora, se for do agrado do rei, que se faça uma pesquisa nos arquivos reais da Babilônia para verificar se o rei Ciro de fato emitiu um decreto ordenando a reconstrução da casa de Deus em Jerusalém. Aguardamos do rei a decisão sobre o assunto”.
