Ezequiel 32:1-16

Um Lamento pelo Faraó

1 No primeiro dia do décimo segundo mês do décimo segundo ano, esta palavra do SENHOR veio a mim:

2 “Filho do homem, entoe um lamento a respeito do faraó, rei do Egito, e diga-lhe:“Você é como um leão entre as nações,como um monstro nos mares,contorcendo-se em seus riachos,agitando e enlameandoas suas águas com os pés.

3 “Assim diz o Soberano, o SENHOR:“Com uma imensa multidão de povoslançarei sobre você a minha rede,e com ela eles o puxarão para cima.

4 Atirarei você na terrae o lançarei no campo.Deixarei que todas as aves do céu se abriguem em vocêe os animais de toda a terra o devorarão até fartar-se.

5 Estenderei a sua carne sobre os montese encherei os vales com os seus restos.

6 Encharcarei a terra com o seu sanguepor todo o caminho, até os montes,e os vales ficarão cheios da sua carne.

7 Quando eu o extinguir, cobrirei o céu e escurecereias suas estrelas;cobrirei o sol com uma nuvem,e a lua não dará a sua luz.

8 Todas as estrelas que brilham nos céus,escurecerei sobre vocêe trarei escuridão sobre a sua terra.Palavra do Soberano, o SENHOR.

9 Perturbarei os corações de muitos povosquando eu provocar a sua destruição entre as nações,em terras^[a] que você não conheceu.

10 Farei que muitos povos espantem-se ao vê-lo,e que os seus reis fiquem arrepiados de horror por sua causa,quando eu brandir a minha espada diante deles.No dia da sua queda todos elestremerão de medosem parar, por suas vidas.

11 “Porque assim diz o Soberano, o SENHOR:“A espada do rei da Babilôniavirá contra você.

12 Farei multidões do seu povocaírem à espada de poderosos,da mais impiedosa das nações.Eles destruirão o orgulho do Egito,e toda a sua população será vencida.

13 Destruirei todo o seu rebanho,junto às muitas águas,as quais não serão mais agitadas pelo pé do homemnem serão enlameadas pelos cascos do gado.

14 Então deixarei que as suas águas se assenteme farei os seus riachos fluírem como azeite.Palavra do Soberano, o SENHOR.

15 Quando eu arrasar o Egitoe arrancar da terra tudo o que nela existe,quando eu abater todos os que ali habitam,então eles saberão que eu sou o SENHOR.

16 “Esse é o lamento que entoarão por causa dele. As filhas das nações o entoarão; por causa do Egito e de todas as suas multidões de povo, elas o entoarão. Palavra do Soberano, o SENHOR”.

Ezequiel 32:1-16 Meaning and Commentary

INTRODUCTION TO EZEKIEL 32

This chapter contains two more prophecies concerning the destruction of Egypt. The date of the first is given, Eze 22:1, in which the king of Egypt is compared to a large fish taken in a net, and brought to land, and left on it, to be the prey of the fowls of the air and beasts of the field, Eze 32:2-4, and the ruin of that kingdom is further amplified by the casting of it on the mountains and valleys; by the land flowing with its blood; by the darkness of the heavens; by the vexation in the hearts of many people; and by the amazement of kings and nations, Eze 32:5-10, the means and instruments of all which will be the king of Babylon and his army, Eze 32:11,12, the devastation made by him, which would be such as would cause lamentation in other nations, is described, Eze 32:13-16, then follows the other prophecy, whose date is given, Eze 32:17, the prophet is bid to lament the fall of Egypt, which is represented under the funeral of a corpse, Eze 32:18-20, saluted by those gone down to the grave before, or were become desolate; which are mentioned, to assure Egypt of its destruction, Eze 32:21 as the Assyrian empire, and all its provinces, Eze 32:22,23, the Persians and Medes, with all their dominions, Eze 32:24,25, the posterity of Meshech and Tubal, or the Scythians, those warlike people, Eze 32:26-28, the Edomites, the princes of the north, and all the Zidonians, Eze 32:29,30 which would be a comfort, though a poor one to the king of Egypt and his subjects, to have such company with them, Eze 32:31,32.
