Zacarías 2:1-8

1 Prosperidad futura de Jerusalén
Cuando miré de nuevo, vi a un hombre con una cinta de medir en la mano.

2 —¿Adónde vas? —le pregunté.
—Voy a medir Jerusalén —me contestó— para ver cuánto mide de ancho y de largo.

3 Entonces el ángel que estaba conmigo fue a reunirse con un segundo ángel que se dirigía hacia él.

4 El otro ángel dijo:
—Apresúrate y dile a ese joven: “¡Jerusalén algún día estará tan llena de gente y de animales que no habrá lugar suficiente para todos! Muchos vivirán fuera de las murallas de la ciudad.

5 Entonces yo mismo seré un muro de fuego protector alrededor de Jerusalén —dice el Señor
—. ¡Y seré la gloria dentro de la ciudad!”.

6 Los desterrados son llamados a regresar
El Señor
dice: «¡Salgan! Huyan de Babilonia en la tierra del norte, porque yo los he dispersado a los cuatro vientos.

7 ¡Sal, pueblo de Sión, tú que estás desterrado en Babilonia!».

8 Después de un período de gloria, el Señor
de los Ejércitos Celestiales me envió
contra las naciones que los saquearon a ustedes. Pues él dijo: «Cualquiera que te dañe, daña a mi más preciada posesión.

INTRODUCTION TO ZECHARIAH 2

This chapter contains a prophecy of the church under the Gospel dispensation; of the largeness and numbers of it; and of its protection and glory, through the presence of God in it. In this vision a man is seen with a measuring line in his hand, to measure Jerusalem with, Zec 2:1,2 upon which an angel bids the angel that talked with the prophet to declare to him the largeness, populousness, and safety of Jerusalem, Zec 2:3-5 then follows an exhortation to the people of God to come out of Babylon, Zec 2:6,7 and then a promise of the calling of the Gentiles, and of God's gracious inhabitation in his church, which would be matter of joy to Zion; and of his inheriting Judah, and choosing Jerusalem Zec 2:8-12 and the chapter is concluded with an address to all mankind, to be silent before the Lord, since he was raised up out of his habitation, Zec 2:13.
