1 Or Davide si partì di là e si rifugiò nella spelonca di Adullam, e quando i suoi fratelli e tutta la famiglia di suo padre lo seppero, scesero quivi per unirsi a lui.

1 Samuel 22:1

David therefore departed from thence
From Gath, being driven by Achish from his court, and let go by his servants, and glad he was of the deliverance:

and escaped to the cave Adullam;
which was no doubt near to a city of the same name in the tribe of Judah, of which (See Gill on Joshua 15:35); this being a strong place, and in his own tribe, he might hope to be in greater safety; here he penned his hundred forty second psalm, see ( Psalms 142:1-7 ) :

and when his brethren and all his father's house heard [it];
that he was come thither:

they went down thither to him;
to visit and comfort him, counsel and assist him all they could; and chiefly to secure themselves from the rage and malice of Saul, who they might fear would fall upon them, and avenge himself on them for David's sake.

1 Or Davide si partì di là e si rifugiò nella spelonca di Adullam, e quando i suoi fratelli e tutta la famiglia di suo padre lo seppero, scesero quivi per unirsi a lui.

2 E tutti quelli ch’erano in angustie, che avean dei debiti o che erano scontenti, si radunaron presso di lui, ed egli divenne loro capo, ed ebbe con sé circa quattrocento uomini.

3 Di là Davide andò a Mitspa di Moab, e disse al re di Moab: "Deh, permetti che mio padre e mia madre vengano a stare da voi, fino a tanto ch’io sappia quel che Iddio farà di me".

4 Egli dunque li condusse davanti al re di Moab, ed essi rimasero con lui tutto il tempo che Davide fu nella sua fortezza.

5 E il profeta Gad disse a Davide: "Non star più in questa fortezza; parti, e récati nel paese di Giuda". Davide allora partì, e venne nella foresta di Hereth.
