12 E voi avete fatto anche peggio de’ vostri padri; perché, ecco, ciascuno cammina seguendo la caparbietà del suo cuore malvagio, per non dare ascolto a me;

Jeremiah 16:12

And ye have done worse than your fathers
Not only committed the same sins, but greater, or, however, attended with more aggravating circumstances; they were wilfully and impudently done, and obstinately persisted in; and therefore deserving of the great evil of punishment pronounced against them. For, behold, ye walk everyone after the imagination of his evil heart;
they walked not as the word of God directs, but as their own evil heart dictated; the imagination of which was evil, and that continually, ( Genesis 6:5 ) . That they may not hearken unto me;
to the word of the Lord, and obey that; their minds being blinded, and their hearts hardened, and they obstinately bent on their own evil ways.

10 E avverrà che quando tu annunzierai a questo popolo tutte queste cose, essi ti diranno: Perché l’Eterno ha egli pronunziato contro di noi tutta questa grande calamità? Qual è la nostra iniquità? Qual è il peccato che abbiam commesso contro l’Eterno, il nostro Dio?

11 Allora tu risponderai loro: "Perché i vostri padri m’hanno abbandonato, dice l’Eterno, sono andati dietro ad altri dèi, li hanno serviti e si son prostrati dinanzi a loro, hanno abbandonato me e non hanno osservato la mia legge.

12 E voi avete fatto anche peggio de’ vostri padri; perché, ecco, ciascuno cammina seguendo la caparbietà del suo cuore malvagio, per non dare ascolto a me;

13 perciò io vi caccerò da questo paese in un paese che né voi né i vostri padri avete conosciuto; e quivi servirete giorno e notte ad altri dèi, perché io non vi farò grazia di sorta".

14 Perciò, ecco, i giorni vengono, dice l’Eterno, che non si dirà più: "L’Eterno è vivente, egli che trasse i figliuoli d’Israele fuori del paese d’Egitto",
