27 And Jesus said to them, "You will all fall away; for it is written, 'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.'

Mark 14:27

And Jesus saith unto them
As they were going to the Mount of Olives. The Persic version reads, in this place; meaning the Mount of Olives, having got thither: all ye shall be offended because of me this night;

in ( Zechariah 13:7 ) , I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered:
Christ is meant by the shepherd, and the apostles by the sheep. The Syriac version reads, "his sheep".

26 And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
27 And Jesus said to them, "You will all fall away; for it is written, 'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.'
28 But after I am raised up, I will go before you to Galilee."
29 Peter said to him, "Even though they all fall away, I will not."
