Shēnméngjì 23

1 Fán waì shèn shòushāng de , huò beì yān gē de , bùkĕ rù Yēhéhuá de huì .

2 Sī shēng zǐ bùkĕ rù Yēhéhuá de huì . tāde zǐsūn , zhídào shí daì , yĕ bùkĕ rù Yēhéhuá de huì .

3 Yàmén rén huò shì Móyē rén bùkĕ rù Yēhéhuá de huì . tāmende zǐsūn , suī guō shí daì , yĕ yǒng bùkĕ rù Yēhéhuá de huì .

4 Yīnwei nǐmen chū Āijí de shíhou , tāmen méiyǒu ná shíwù hé shuǐ zaì lù shàng yíngjiē nǐmen , yòu yīn tāmen gù le Mĕisuǒbùdámǐyà de pí duó rén Bǐĕr de érzi Bālán lái zhòuzǔ nǐmen .

5 Ránér Yēhéhuá nǐde shén bú kĕn tīng cóng Bālán , què shǐ nà zhòuzǔ de yányǔ biàn wéi zhùfú de huà , yīnwei Yēhéhuá nǐde shén aì nǐ .

6 Nǐ yìshēng yī shì yǒng bùkĕ qiú tāmende píngān hé tāmende lì yì .

7 Bùkĕ zēngwù Yǐdōng rén , yīnwei tā shì nǐde dìxiōng . bùkĕ zēngwù Āijí rén , yīnwei nǐ zaì tāde dì shàng zuò guō jìjū de .

8 Tāmen dì sān daì zǐsūn kĕyǐ rù Yēhéhuá de huì .

9 Nǐ chū bīng gōngdǎ chóudí , jiù yào yuǎn bì zhū è .

10 Nǐmen zhōngjiān , ruò yǒu rén yè jiàn ǒurán mèng yí , bú jiéjìng , jiù yào chū dào yíng waì , bùkĕ rù yíng .

11 Dào bàng wǎn de shíhou , tā yào yòng shuǐ xǐzǎo , jízhì rìluò le cái kĕyǐ rù yíng .

12 Nǐ zaì yíng waì yĕ gāi déng chū yī gè dìfang zuòwéi biàn suǒ .

13 Zaì nǐ qìxiè zhī zhōng dàng yùbeì yī bǎ qiāo , nǐ chū yíng waì biàn niào yǐhòu , yòng yǐ chǎn tǔ , zhuǎn shēn yǎngaì .

14 Yīnwei Yēhéhuá nǐde shén cháng zaì nǐ yíng zhōng xíng zǒu , yào jiù hù nǐ , jiāng chóudí jiāo gĕi nǐ , suǒyǐ nǐde yíng lǐ dàng shèngjié , miǎndé tā jiàn nǐ nàli yǒu wūhuì , jiù líkāi nǐ .

15 Ruò yǒu núpú tuō le zhǔrén de shǒu , taó dào nǐ nàli , nǐ bùkĕ jiāng tā jiāofù tāde zhǔrén .

16 Tā bì zaì nǐ nàli yǔ nǐ tóng zhù , zaì nǐde chéngyì zhōng , yào yóu tā xuǎnzé yī gè suǒ xǐyuè de dìfang jūzhù . nǐ bùkĕ qīfu tā .

17 Yǐsèliè de nǚzi zhōng bùkĕ yǒu jìnǚ . Yǐsèliè de nánzǐ zhōng bùkĕ yǒu luán tóng .

18 Chāngjì suǒ de de qián , huò luán tóng ( yuánwén zuò gǒu ) suǒ de de jià , nǐ bùkĕ daì rù Yēhéhuá nǐ shén de diàn hái yuàn , yīnwei zhè liǎngyàng dōu shì Yēhéhuá nǐ shén suǒ zēngwù de .

19 Nǐ jiè gĕi nǐ dìxiōng de , huò shì qiáncái huò shì liángshi , wúlùn shénme kè shēng lì de wù , dōu bùkĕ qǔ lì .

20 Jiè gĕi waìbāngrén kĕyǐ qǔ lì , zhǐshì jiè gĕi nǐ dìxiōng bùkĕ qǔ lì . zhèyàng , Yēhéhuá nǐ shén bì zaì nǐ suǒ qù de wéi yè de dì shàng hé nǐ shǒu lǐ suǒ bàn de yīqiè shì shàng cì fú yǔ nǐ .

21 Nǐ xiàng Yēhéhuá nǐde shén xǔyuàn , chánghuán bùkĕ chíyán . yīnwei Yēhéhuá nǐde shén bìdéng xiàng nǐ zhuī tǎo , nǐ bú chánghuán jiù yǒu zuì .

22 Nǐ ruò bú xǔyuàn , dǎo wú zuì .

23 Nǐ zuǐlǐ suǒ chū de , jiù shì nǐ kǒu zhōng yīngxǔ gānxīn suǒ xiàn de , yào zhào nǐ xiàng Yēhéhuá nǐ shén suǒ xǔ de yuàn jǐn shǒu zūnxíng .

24 Nǐ jìn le línshè de pútaóyuán , kĕyǐ suíyì chī bǎo le pútào , zhǐshì bùkĕ zhuāng zaì qìmǐn zhōng .

25 Nǐ jìn le línshè zhàn zhe de hé jià , kĕyǐ yòng shǒu zhāi suì zǐ , zhǐshì bùkĕ yòng lián dāo gē qǔ hé jià .

Shēnméngjì 23 Commentary

Chapter 23

Who are shut out from the congregation. (1-8) Cleanliness enjoined. (15-25) Of fugitive servants, Usury, and other precepts. (9-14)

Verses 1-8 We ought to value the privileges of God's people, both for ourselves and for our children, above all other advantages. No personal blemishes, no crimes of our forefathers, no difference of nation, shuts us out under the Christian dispensation. But an unsound heart will deprive us of blessings; and a bad example, or an unsuitable marriage, may shut our children from them.

Verses 9-14 The camp of the Lord must have nothing offensive in it. If there must be this care taken to preserve the body clean, much more should we be careful to keep the mind pure.

Verses 15-25 It is honourable to shelter and protect the weak, provided they are not wicked. Proselytes and converts to the truth, should be treated with particular tenderness, that they may have no temptation to return to the world. We cannot honour God with our substance, unless it be honestly and honourably come by. It must not only be considered what we give, but how we got it. Where the borrower gets, or hopes to get, it is just that the lender should share the gain; but to him that borrows for necessary food, pity must be showed. That which is gone out of thy lips, as a solemn and deliberate vow, must not be recalled, but thou shalt keep and perform it punctually and fully. They were allowed to pluck and eat of the corn or grapes that grew by the road side; only they must not carry any away. This law intimated what great plenty of corn and wine they should have in Canaan. It provided for the support of poor travellers, and teaches us to be kind to such, teaches us to be ready to distribute, and not to think every thing lost that is given away. Yet it forbids us to abuse the kindness of friends, or to take advantage of what is allowed. Faithfulness to their engagements should mark the people of God; and they should never encroach upon others.

Orders are here given to restrain certain persons from entering into the congregation of the Lord, De 23:1-8, and to take care that there be no unclean person in the camp, or any indecent thing done in it, De 23:9-14, to protect fugitive servants, and not deliver them up to their masters, De 23:15,16 not to suffer a filthy person to be among them, or any filthy thing to be brought into the house of God for a vow, De 23:17,18, then follow some laws against usury, and for the payment of vows, De 23:19-23, and the chapter is concluded with some directions how to behave in a neighbour's vineyard, or standing corn, De 23:24,25.
