Ezekiel 18:16

Neither hath oppressed any (See Gill on Ezekiel 18:7). hath not withholden the pledge;
or, hath not pledged the pledge ^F8. The meaning is, not that he had not given one, but had not taken one. So the Targum,

``the pledge he hath not taken;''

or, if he did, he did not keep it beyond the time the law directs, but restored it to him whose it was; neither hath spoiled by violence, [but] hath given his bread to the
hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment.
The rest of the verse is the same with ( Ezekiel 18:7 ) .

16 未 曾 虧 負 人 ， 未 曾 取 人 的 當 頭 ， 未 曾 搶 奪 人 的 物 件 ， 卻 將 食 物 給 飢 餓 的 人 吃 ， 將 衣 服 給 赤 身 的 人 穿 ，

17 縮 手 不 害 貧 窮 人 ， 未 曾 向 借 錢 的 弟 兄 取 利 ， 也 未 曾 向 借 糧 的 弟 兄 多 要 ； 他 順 從 我 的 典 章 ， 遵 行 我 的 律 例 ， 就 不 因 父 親 的 罪 孽 死 亡 ， 定 要 存 活 。

18 至 於 他 父 親 ； 因 為 欺 人 太 甚 ， 搶 奪 弟 兄 ， 在 本 國 的 民 中 行 不 善 ， 他 必 因 自 己 的 罪 孽 死 亡 。
