1 Samuel 2:12

Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial
Not that Eli their father was Belial, a wicked man; but though they had so good a father, they were very wicked men, unprofitable abandoned wretches, that cast off the yoke of the law of God, and gave themselves up to all manner of wickedness:

they knew not the Lord;
not that they had no knowledge of God in theory, or were real atheists, but they were so practically; they denied him in works, they had no love to him, nor fear of him, and departed from his ways and worship, as much as if they were entirely ignorant of him; so the Targum,

``they did not know to fear before the Lord,''

or serve him; or, as Kimchi,

``they did not know the way of the Lord,''

that is, practically.

10 Yǔ Yēhéhuá zhēngjing de , bì beì dá suì . Yēhéhuá bì cóng tiān shàng yǐ léi gōngjī tā , bì shĕnpàn dìjí de rén , jiāng lìliang cì yǔ suǒ lì de wáng , gāo jǔ shòu gāo zhĕ de jiǎo .

11 Yǐlìjiāná wǎng Lāmǎ huí jiā qù le . nà háizi zaì jìsī Yǐlì miànqián shìfèng Yēhéhuá .

12 Yǐlì de liǎng gè érzi shì è rén , bú rènshi Yēhéhuá .

13 Zhè èr jìsī dāi bǎixìng shì zhèyàng de guīju , fán yǒu rén xiànjì , zhēng zhǔ ròu de shíhou , jìsī de púrén jiù lái , shǒu ná sān chǐ de chā zǐ ,

14 Jiāng chā zǐ wǎng guàn lǐ , huò dǐng lǐ , huò fǔ lǐ , huò guō lǐ yī chā , chā shàng lái de ròu , jìsī dōu qǔ le qù . fán shàng dào Shìluó de Yǐsèliè rén , tāmen dōu shì zhèyàng kàndaì .
