Genesis 17:4

As for me, behold, my covenant [is] with thee
Who was gracious to make it, faithful to keep it, and immutable in it, though Abram was but a man, and sinful:

and thou shalt be a father of many nations:
as he was of many Arabian nations, and of the Turks in the line of Ishmael; and of the Midianites, and others, in the line of his sons by Keturah; and of the Israelites in the line of Isaac, as well as of the Edomites in the line of Esau; and in a spiritual sense the father of all that believe, in all the nations of the world, circumcised or uncircumcised, as the apostle explains it, ( Romans 4:11 Romans 4:12 Romans 4:16-18 ) .

2 我 就 與 你 立 約 ， 使 你 的 後 裔 極 其 繁 多 。

3 亞 伯 蘭 俯 伏 在 地 ； 　 神 又 對 他 說 ：

4 我 與 你 立 約 ： 你 要 作 多 國 的 父 。

5 從 此 以 後 ， 你 的 名 不 再 叫 亞 伯 蘭 ， 要 叫 亞 伯 拉 罕 ， 因 為 我 已 立 你 作 多 國 的 父 。

6 我 必 使 你 的 後 裔 極 其 繁 多 ； 國 度 從 你 而 立 ， 君 王 從 你 而 出 。
