1 Yàhāsī dēng jī de shíhou nián èr shí suì , zaì Yēlùsǎlĕng zuò wáng shí liù nián . bù xiàng tā zǔ Dàwèi xíng Yēhéhuá yǎn zhōng kàn wéi zhēng de shì ,

2 Què xíng Yǐsèliè zhū wáng de dào , yòu zhùzào bā lì de xiàng ,

3 Bìngqiĕ zaì Xīnnènzǐ gǔ shāoxiāng , yòng huǒ fùnshāo tāde érnǚ , xíng Yēhéhuá zaì Yǐsèliè rén miànqián suǒ qū zhú de waìbāngrén nà kĕ zēng de shì .

4 Bìng zaì qiū tán shàng , shāngāng shàng , gè qīng cuì shù xià xiànjì shāoxiāng .

5 Suǒyǐ , Yēhéhuá tāde shén jiāng tā jiāo zaì Yàlán wáng shǒu lǐ . Yàlán wáng dá baì tā , lǔ le tā xǔduō de mín , daì dào Dàmǎsè qù . shén yòu jiāng tā jiāo zaì Yǐsèliè wáng shǒu lǐ , Yǐsèliè wáng xiàng tā dà xíng shā lù .

6 Lì mǎ lì de érzi bǐ jiā yī rì shā le Yóudà rén shí èr wàn , dōu shì yǒng shì , yīnwei tāmen lí qì le Yēhéhuá tāmen lièzǔ de shén .

7 Yǒu yī gè Yǐfǎlián zhōng de yǒng shì , míng jiào Xìjīlì , shā le wáng de érzi Mǎxīyǎ hé guǎnlǐ wánggōng de yē sī lì gān , bìng zǎixiàng Yǐlìjiāná .

8 Yǐsèliè rén lǔ le tāmende dìxiōng , lián fùrén daì érnǚ gòng yǒu èr shí wàn , yòu lüè le xǔduō de cáiwù , daì dào sǎ Mǎlìyà qù le .

9 Dàn nàli yǒu Yēhéhuá de yī gè xiānzhī , míng jiào é dé , chūlai yíngjiē wǎng sǎ Mǎlìyà qù de jūn bīng , duì tāmen shuō , yīnwei Yēhéhuá nǐmen lièzǔ de shén nǎonù Yóudà rén , suǒyǐ jiāng tāmen jiāo zaì nǐmen shǒu lǐ , nǐmen jìng nùqì chōng tiān , dà xíng shā lù .

10 Rújīn nǐmen yòu yǒu yì qiǎngbī Yóudà rén hé Yēlùsǎlĕng rén zuò nǐmen de nú bì , nǐmen qǐbù yĕ yǒu dé zuì Yēhéhuá nǐmen shén de shì ma .

11 Xiànzaì nǐmen dāng tīng wǒ shuō , yào jiāng lǔ lái de dìxiōng shìfàng huí qù , yīnwei Yēhéhuá xiàng nǐmen yǐjing dà fā liè nù .

12 Yúshì , Yǐfǎlián rén de jǐ gè zúzhǎng jiù shì Yuēhānán de érzi Yàsālìyǎ , Mǐshílìmò de érzi Bǐlìjiā, Shālóng de érzi yé Xīxījiā , hā dé lái de érzi yà Mǎsā qǐlai lán dǎng chū bīng huí lái de rén ,

13 Duì tāmen shuō , nǐmen bùkĕ daì jìn zhè beìlǔ de rén lái . nǐmen xiǎng yào shǐ wǒmen dé zuì Yēhéhuá , jiā zēng wǒmen de zuìè guō fàn . yīnwei wǒmen de zuì guō shén dà , yǐjing yǒu liè nù líndào Yǐsèliè rén le .

14 Yúshì daì bīngqì de rén jiāng lǔ lái de rénkǒu hé lüè lái de cáiwù dōu liú zaì zhòng shǒulǐng hé huì zhòng de miànqián .

15 Yǐshàng tí míng de nàxiē rén jiù zhàn qǐ , shǐ beìlǔ de rén qián lái . qízhōng yǒu chì shēn de , jiù cóng suǒ lüè de cáiwù zhōng ná chū yīfu hé xié lái , gĕi tāmen chuān , yòu gĕi tāmen chī hē , yòng gāo mǒ tāmen . qízhōng yǒu ruǎnfuò de , jiù shǐ tāmen qí lü , sòng dào zōng shù chéng Yēlìgē tāmen dìxiōng nàli , suíhòu jiù huí sǎ Mǎlìyà qù le .

16 Nàshí , Yàhāsī wáng chāiqiǎn rén qù jiàn Yàshù zhū wáng , qiú tāmen bāngzhu .

17 Yīnwei Yǐdōng rén yòu lái gōngjī Yóudà , lǔlǜe zǐmín .

18 Fēilìshì rén yĕ lái qīn zhān gāo yuán hé Yóudà nánfāng de chéngyì , qǔ le Bǎishìmaì , Yàyǎlún , jī dī luó , Suōgē hé shǔ Suōgē de xiāngcūn , Tíngnà hé shǔ Tíngnà de xiāngcūn , jǐn suǒ hé shǔ jǐn suǒ de xiāngcūn , jiù zhù zaì nàli .

19 Yīnwei Yǐsèliè wáng Yàhāsī zaì Yóudà fàngsì , dàdà gānfàn Yēhéhuá , suǒyǐ Yēhéhuá shǐ Yóudà bēiwēi .

20 Yàshù wáng tí gé lā4 pí ní shǎi shàng lái , què méiyǒu bāngzhu tā , fǎn dǎo qī líng tā .

21 Yàhāsī cóng Yēhéhuá diàn lǐ hé wánggōng zhōng , bìng shǒulǐng jiā neì suǒ qǔ de cáibǎo gĕi le Yàshù wáng , zhè yĕ wú jǐ yú shì .

22 Zhè Yàhāsī wáng zaì jí nán de shíhou , yuèfā dé zuì Yēhéhuá .

23 Tā jìsì gōngjī tāde Dàmǎsè zhī shén , shuō , yīnwei Yàlán wáng de shén bāngzhu tāmen , wǒ yĕ xiànjì yǔ tā , tā hǎo bāngzhu wǒ . dàn nàxiē shén shǐ tā hé Yǐsèliè zhòngrén baì wáng le .

24 Yàhāsī jiāng shén diàn lǐ de qìmǐn dōu jù le lái , huǐhuaì le , qiĕ fēng suǒ Yēhéhuá diàn de mén . zaì Yēlùsǎlĕng gè chù de guǎijiǎo jiànzhù jìtán ,

25 Yòu zaì Yóudà gè chéng jiànlì qiū tán , yǔ bié shén shāoxiāng , rĕ dòng Yēhéhuá tā lièzǔ shén de nùqì .

26 Yàhāsī qíyú de shì hé tāde xíngwéi , zì shǐ zhì zhōng dōu xiĕ zaì Yóudà hé Yǐsèliè zhū wáng jì shàng .

27 Yàhāsī yǔ tā lièzǔ tóng shuì , zàng zaì Yēlùsǎlĕng chéng lǐ , méiyǒu sòng rù Yǐsèliè zhū wáng de fùnmù zhōng . tā érzi Xīxījiā jiēxù tā zuò wáng .

Lìdaìzhìxià 28 Commentary

Chapter 28

The wicked reign of Ahaz in Judah.

- Israel gained this victory because God was wroth with Judah, and made them the rod of his indignation. He reminds them of their own sins. It ill becomes sinners to be cruel. Could they hope for the mercy of God, if they neither showed mercy nor justice to their brethren? Let it be remembered, that every man is our neighbour, our brother, our fellow man, if not our fellow Christian. And no man who is acquainted with the word of God, need fear to maintain that slavery is against the law of love and the gospel of grace. Who can hold his brother in bondage, without breaking the rule of doing to others as he would they should do unto him? But when sinners are left to their own heart's lusts, they grow more desperate in wickedness. God commands them to release the prisoners, and they obeyed. The Lord brought Judah low. Those who will not humble themselves under the word of God, will justly be humbled by his judgments. It is often found, that wicked men themselves have no real affection for those that revolt to them, nor do they care to do them a kindness. This is that king Ahaz! that wretched man! Those are wicked and vile indeed, that are made worse by their afflictions, instead of being made better by them; who, in their distress, trespass yet more, and have their hearts more fully set in them to do evil. But no marvel that men's affections and devotions are misplaced, when they mistake the author of their trouble and of their help. The progress of wickedness and misery is often rapid; and it is awful to reflect upon a sinner's being driven away in his wickedness into the eternal world.

INTRODUCTION TO 2 CHRONICLES 28

This chapter contains the reign of Ahaz, and gives an account of the idolatry he was guilty of, 2Ch 28:1-4, what calamities came upon him and his people, being delivered up into the hands of the kings of Syria and Israel, who slew many, and carried others captives, 2Ch 28:5-8, though they that were taken captive by Israel, at the admonition of a prophet, were sent back again, 2Ch 28:9-15, how also he was distressed by the Edomites and Philistines, and not helped by the king of Assyria, he sent for and made presents to, 2Ch 28:16-21 and yet went into more and greater idolatries, 2Ch 28:22-25, and the chapter is concluded with his death and burial, 2Ch 28:26,27.

These verses are much the same with 2Ki 16:2-4, only in 2Ch 28:2 it is said,

\\he made also molten images for Baalim\\; the several Baals or idols of the nations round about, as well as served Jeroboam's calves; see Jud 2:11, and he is said in 2Ch 28:3,
