Yǐsīlājì 7

1 Zhè shì yǐhòu , Bōsī wáng Yàdáxuēxī nián jiān , yǒu gè Yǐsīlà , tā shì Xīláiyē de érzi , Xīláiyē shì Yàsālìyē de érzi , Yàsālìyē shì Xīlēijiā de érzi .

2 Xīlèjiā shì Shālóng de érzi , Shālóng shì Sādū de érzi , Sādū shì Yàxītūde érzi ,

3 Yàxītū shì Yàmǎlìyǎ de érzi , Yàmǎlìyē shì Yàsālìyē de érzi , Yàsālìyǎ shì Mǐlàyuē de érzi ,

4 Mǐlàyuē shì Xīlāxīyǎ de érzi , Xīlāxīyǎ shì Wùxī de érzi , Wùxī shì Bùjīde érzi ,

5 Bùjīshì Yàbǐshū de érzi , Yàbǐshū shìFēiníhā de érzi , Fēiníhā shì YǐlìYàsā de érzi , YǐlìYàsā shì Dàjìsī Yàlún de érzi .

6 Zhè Yǐsīlà cóng Bābǐlún shang lái , tā shì mǐnjié de Wénshì , tōngdá Yēhéhuá Yǐsèliè shén suǒ cì Móxī de lǜfǎ shū . wáng yún zhún tā yīqiè suǒ qiú de , shì yīn Yēhéhuá tā shén de shǒu bāngzhu tā .

7 Yàdáxuēxī wáng dì qī nián , Yǐsèliè rén , jìsī , Lìwèi rén , gē chàng de , shǒu mén de , ní tí níng , yǒu shang Yēlùsǎlĕng de .

8 Wáng dì qī nián wǔ yuè , Yǐsīlà dào le Yēlùsǎlĕng .

9 Zhēngyuè chū yī rì , tā cóng Bābǐlún qǐ chéng . yīn tā shén shī ēn de shǒu bāngzhu tā , wǔ yuè chū yī rì jiù dào le Yēlùsǎlĕng .

10 Yǐsīlà déng zhì kǎo jiū zūnxíng Yēhéhuá de lǜfǎ , yòu jiāng lǜ lì diǎnzhāng jiàoxun Yǐsèliè rén .

11 Jìsī Yǐsīlà shì tōngdá Yēhéhuá jièmìng , hé cì Yǐsèliè zhī lǜ lì de Wénshì . Yàdáxuēxī wáng cìgĕi tāmen yù zhǐ , shàngmian xiĕ zhe shuō ,

12 Zhū wáng zhī wáng Yàdáxuēxī , dá yú jìsī Yǐsīlà tōngdá tiān shang shén lǜfǎ dà dé de Wénshì , yúnyún .

13 Zhù zaì wǒ guó zhōng de Yǐsèliè rén , jìsī , Lìwèi rén , fán gānxīn shang Yēlùsǎlĕng qù de , wǒ jiàng zhǐ zhún tāmen yǔ nǐ tóng qù .

14 Wáng yǔ qī gè móu shì jìrán chāi nǐ qù , zhào nǐ shǒu zhōng shén de lǜfǎ shū , chá wèn Yóudà , hé Yēlùsǎlĕng de jǐngkuàng .

15 Yòu daì jīn yín , jiù shì wáng hé móu shì gānxīn xiàn gĕi zhù Yēlùsǎlĕng , Yǐsèliè shén de ,

16 Bìng daì nǐ zaì Bābǐlún quán shĕng suǒ dé de jīn yín , hé bǎixìng , jìsī lèyì xiàn gĕi Yēlùsǎlĕng tāmen shén diàn de lǐwù .

17 Suǒyǐ nǐ dāng yòng zhè jīn yín , jísù mǎi gōngniú , gōng miányáng , miányáng gāo , hé tóng xiàn de sù jì diàn jì zhī wù , xiàn zaì Yēlùsǎlĕng nǐmen shén diàn de tán shang .

18 Shèngxia de jīn yín , nǐ hé nǐde dìxiōng kàn zhe zĕnyàng hǎo , jiù zĕnyàng yòng , zǒng yào zūn zhe nǐmen shén de zhǐyì .

19 Suǒ jiāo gĕi nǐ shén diàn zhōng shǐyòng de qìmǐn , nǐ yào jiāo zaì Yēlùsǎlĕng shén miànqián .

20 Nǐ shén diàn lǐ ruò zaì yǒu xū yòng de jīngfeì , nǐ kĕyǐ cóng wáng de fǔ kù lǐ zhī qǔ .

21 Wǒ Yàdáxuēxī wáng yòu jiàng zhǐ yǔ hé xī de yīqiè kù guān , shuō , tōngdá tiān shang shén lǜfǎ de Wénshì jìsī Yǐsīlà , wúlùn xiàng nǐmen yào shénme , nǐmen yào sù sù dì beì bàn ,

22 Jiù shì yínzi zhídào yī bǎi tā lián dé , maìzi yī bǎi kē ĕr , jiǔ yī bǎi bā tè , yóu yī bǎi bā tè , yán bù jì qí shǔ , yĕ yào gĕi tā .

23 Fán tiān shang zhī shén suǒ fēnfu de , dāng wèi tiān shang shén de diàn xiángxì bànlǐ . wèihé shǐ fèn nù líndào wáng hé wáng zhòng zǐ de guó ne .

24 Wǒ yòu xiǎoyù nǐmen , zhìyú jìsī , Lìwèi rén , gē chàng de , shǒu mén de , hé ní tí níng , bìng zaì shén diàn dāng chāi de rén , bùkĕ jiào tāmen jìn gòng , jiāo kè , nà shuì .

25 Yǐsīlà a , yào zhào zhe nǐ shén cì nǐde zhìhuì , jiāng suǒ yǒu míngbai nǐ shén lǜfǎ de rén Lìwèi shì shī , shĕnpàn guān , zhìlǐ hé xī de bǎixìng , shǐ tāmen jiàoxun yīqiè bù míngbai shén lǜfǎ de rén .

26 Fán bù zūnxíng nǐ shén lǜfǎ hé wáng mìnglìng de rén jiù dāng sù sù déng tāde zuì , huò zhìsǐ , huò chōng jūn , huò chāo jiā , huò qiújìn .

27 Yǐsīlà shuō , Yēhéhuá wǒmen lièzǔ de shén shì yīngdāng chēngsòng de . yīn tā shǐ wáng qǐ zhè xīnyì xiūshì Yēlùsǎlĕng Yēhéhuá de diàn ,

28 Yòu zaì wáng hé móu shì , bìng dà néng de jūnzhǎng miànqián shī ēn yú wǒ . yīn Yēhéhuá wǒ shén de shǒu bāngzhu wǒ , wǒ jiù déyǐ jiān qiáng , cóng Yǐsèliè zhōng zhāo jù shǒulǐng , yǔ wǒ yītóng shang lái .

Yǐsīlājì 7 Commentary

Chapter 7

Ezra goes up to Jerusalem. (1-10) The commission to Ezra. (11-26) Ezra blesses God for his favour. (27,28)

Verses 1-10 Ezra went from Babylon to Jerusalem, for the good of his country. The king was kind to him; he granted all his requests, whatever Ezra desired to enable him to serve his country. When he went, many went with him; he obtained favour from his king, by the Divine favour. Every creature is that to us, which God makes it to be. We must see the hand of God in the events that befal us, and acknowledge him with thankfulness.

Verses 11-26 The liberality of heathen kings to support the worship of God, reproached the conduct of many kings of Judah, and will rise up in judgment against the covetousness of wealthy professed Christians, who will not promote the cause of God. But the weapons of Christian ministers are not carnal. Faithful preaching, holy lives, fervent prayers, and patient suffering when called to it, are the means to bring men into obedience to Christ.

Verses 27-28 Two things Ezra blessed God for: 1. For his commission. If any good appear in our hearts, or in the hearts of others, we must own that God put it there, and bless him; it is he that worketh in us, both to will and to do that which is good. 2. For his encouragement: God has extended mercy to me. Ezra was a man of courage, yet he ascribed this not to his own heart, but to God's hand. If God give us his hand, we are bold and cheerful; if he withdraw it, we are weak as water. Whatever we are enabled to do for God and those around us, God must have all the glory.

In this chapter we have the lineage and character of Ezra described, Ezr 7:1-6, his expedition to Jerusalem, and of many others with him, Ezr 7:7-10, a copy of the commission King Artaxerxes gave him to execute, Ezr 7:11-26, and his thankfulness, Ezr 7:27,28.
