Lìdaìzhìxià 32

1 Zhè qiánchéng de shì yǐhòu , Yàshù wáng xī ná jī lì lái qīn rù Yóudà , wéi kùn yīqiè jiāngù chéng , xiǎng yào gōng pò zhān jū .

2 Xīxījiā jiàn xī ná jī lì lái , déng yì yào gōngdǎ Yēlùsǎlĕng ,

3 Jiù yǔ shǒulǐng hé yǒng shì shāngyì , sāi zhù chéng waì de quányuán . tāmen jiù dōu bāngzhu tā .

4 Yúshì yǒu xǔduō rén jùjí , sāi le yīqiè quányuán , bìng tōng liú guó zhōng de xiǎo hé , shuō , Yàshù wáng lái , wèihé ràng tā dé zhe xǔduō shuǐ ne .

5 Xīxījiā lì tú zì qiáng , jiù xiū zhú suǒ yǒu chāihuǐ de chéngqiáng , gāo yǔ chéng lóu xiāng qí . zaì chéng waì yòu zhú yī chéng , jiāngù Dàwèi chéng de mǐ luó , zhìzào le xǔduō jūn qì , dùnpái .

6 Shèlì jūnzhǎng guǎnlǐ bǎixìng , jiāng tāmen zhāo jù zaì chéng mén de kuānkuò chù , yòng huà miǎnlì tāmen , shuō ,

7 Nǐmen dāng gāngqiáng zhuàng dǎn , búyào yīn Yàshù wáng hé gēnsuí tāde dà jūn kǒngjù , jīnghuāng . yīnwei yǔ wǒmen tóng zaì de , bǐ yǔ tāmen tóng zaì de gèng dà .

8 Yǔ tāmen tóng zaì de shì ròu bì , yǔ wǒmen tóng zaì de shì Yēhéhuá wǒmen de shén , tā bì bāngzhu wǒmen , wèi wǒmen zhēng zhàn . bǎixìng jiù kào Yóudà wáng Xīxījiā de huà , ānrán wú jù le .

9 Cǐ hòu , Yàshù wáng xī ná jīLìhé tāde quán jūn gōngdǎ Làjí , jiù chāiqiǎn chénpú dào Yēlùsǎlĕng jiàn Yóudà wáng Xīxījiā hé yīqiè zaì Yēlùsǎlĕng de Yóudà rén , shuō ,

10 Yàshù wáng xī ná jī lì rúcǐ shuō , nǐmen yǐkào shénme , hái zaì Yēlùsǎlĕng shòu kùn ne .

11 Xīxījiā duì nǐmen shuō Yēhéhuá wǒmen de shén bì jiù wǒmen tuōlí Yàshù wáng de shǒu , zhè bú shì yòuhuò nǐmen , shǐ nǐmen shòu jīkĕ ér sǐ ma .

12 Zhè Xīxījiā qǐbù shì feì qù Yēhéhuá de qiū tán hé jìtán , fēnfu Yóudà yǔ Yēlùsǎlĕng de rén shuō nǐmen dāng zaì yī gè tán qián jìngbaì , zaì qí shàng shāoxiāng ma .

13 Wǒ yǔ wǒ lièzǔ xiàng liè bāng suǒ xíng de , nǐmen qǐbù zhīdào ma . liè bāng de shén hé cháng néng jiù zìjǐ de guó tuōlí wǒ shǒu ne .

14 Wǒ lièzǔ suǒ miè de guó , nàxiē shén zhōng shuí néng jiù zìjǐ de mín tuōlí wǒ shǒu ne . nándào nǐmen de shén néng jiù nǐmen tuōlí wǒ shǒu ma .

15 Suǒyǐ nǐmen búyào jiào Xīxījiā zhèyàng qī hǒng yòuhuò nǐmen , yĕ búyào xìn tā . yīnwei méiyǒu yī guó yī bāng de shén néng jiù zìjǐ de mín tuōlí wǒ shǒu hé wǒ lièzǔ de shǒu , hékuàng nǐmen de shén gèng bùnéng jiù nǐmen tuōlí wǒde shǒu .

16 Xīná jī lì de chénpú hái yǒu biéde huà huǐbàng Yēhéhuá shén hé tā púrén Xīxījiā .

17 Xīná jī lì yĕ xiĕ xìn huǐbàng Yēhéhuá Yǐsèliè de shén shuō , liè bāng de shén jì bùnéng jiù tāde mín tuōlí wǒ shǒu , Xīxījiā de shén yĕ bùnéng jiù tāde mín tuōlí wǒ shǒu le .

18 Yàshù wáng de chénpú yòng Yóudà yányǔ xiàng Yēlùsǎlĕng chéng shàng de mín dàshēng hūjiào , yào jīngxià tāmen , rǎoluàn tāmen , yǐbiàn qǔ chéng .

19 Tāmen lún Yēlùsǎlĕng de shén , rútóng lún shìshang rén shǒu suǒ zào de shén yíyàng .

20 Xīxījiā wáng hé yà mó sī de érzi xiānzhī Yǐsaìyà yīncǐ dǎogào , xiàng tiān hū qiú .

21 Yēhéhuá jiù chāiqiǎn yī gè shǐzhĕ jìnrù Yàshù wáng yíng zhōng , bǎ suǒ yǒu dà néng de yǒng shì hé guān zhǎng , jiāng shuaì jǐn dōu miè le . Yàshù wáng mǎn miàn Hán xiū dì huí dào bĕn guó , jìn le tā shén de miào zhōng , yǒu tā qīn/qéng shēng de érzi zaì nàli yòng dāo shā le tā .

22 Zhèyàng , Yēhéhuá jiù Xīxījiā hé Yēlùsǎlĕng de jūmín tuōlí Yàshù wáng xī ná jī lì de shǒu , yĕ tuōlí yīqiè chóudí de shǒu , yòu cì tāmen sì jìng píngān .

23 Yǒu xǔduō rén dào Yēlùsǎlĕng , jiāng gōngwù xiàn yǔ Yēhéhuá , yòu jiāng bǎowù sòng gĕi Yóudà wáng Xīxījiā . cǐ hòu , Xīxījiā zaì liè bāng rén de yǎn zhōng kàn wéi zūn dà .

24 Nàshí Xīxījiā bìng dé yào sǐ , jiù dǎogào Yēhéhuá , Yēhéhuá yīngyún tā , cì tā yī gè zhào tóu .

25 Xīxījiā què méiyǒu zhào tā suǒ méng de ēn bàodá Yēhéhuá . yīn tā xīnli jiāoào , suǒyǐ fèn nù yào líndào tā hé Yóudà bìng Yēlùsǎlĕng .

26 Dàn Xīxījiā hé Yēlùsǎlĕng de jūmín juéde xīnli jiāoào , jiù yītóng zìbēi , yǐzhì Yēhéhuá de fèn nù zaì Xīxījiā de rìzi méiyǒu líndào tāmen .

27 Xīxījiā dà yǒu zūnróng zīcái , jiànzào fǔ kù , shōucáng jīn yín , bǎoshí , xiāngliào , dùnpái , hé gèyàng de bǎo qì ,

28 Yòu jiànzào cāng fáng , shōucáng wǔgǔ , xīn jiǔ , hé yóu , yòu wèi gè leì shēngchù gaì péng lì juān .

29 Bìngqiĕ jiànlì chéngyì , hái yǒu xǔduō de yáng qún niú qún , yīnwei shén cì tā jí duō de cái chǎn .

30 Zhè Xīxījiā yĕ sāi zhù Jīxùn de shàng yuán , yǐn shuǐ zhí xià , liú zaì Dàwèi chéng de xībiān . Xīxījiā suǒxíng de shì jǐn dōu hēng tōng .

31 Wéiyǒu yī jiàn shì , jiù shì Bābǐlún wáng chāiqiǎn shǐzhĕ lái jiàn Xīxījiā , fǎngwèn guó zhōng suǒ xiàn de qí shì . zhè jiàn shì shén líkāi tā , yào shìyàn tā , hǎo zhīdào tā xīn neì rúhé .

32 Xīxījiā qíyú de shì hé tāde shàn xíng , dōu xiĕ zaì yà mó sī de érzi xiānzhī Yǐsaìyà de mò shì shū shàng , hé Yóudà , Yǐsèliè de zhū wáng jì shàng .

33 Xīxījiā yǔ tā lièzǔ tóng shuì , zàng zaì Dàwèi zǐsūn de gāo líng shàng . tā sǐ de shíhou , Yóudà rén hé Yēlùsǎlĕng de jūmín dōu zūnjìng tā . tā érzi Mǎnáxī jiēxù tā zuò wáng .

Lìdaìzhìxià 32 Commentary

Chapter 32

The invasion of Sennacherib, His defeat. (1-23) Hezekiah's sickness, His prosperous reign, and death. (24-33)

Verses 1-23 Those who trust God with their safety, must use proper means, else they tempt him. God will provide, but so must we also. Hezekiah gathered his people together, and spake comfortably to them. A believing confidence in God, will raise us above the prevailing fear of man. Let the good subjects and soldiers of Jesus Christ, rest upon his word, and boldly say, Since God is for us, who can be against us? By the favour of God, enemies are lost, and friends gained.

Verses 24-33 God left Hezekiah to himself, that, by this trial and his weakness in it, what was in his heart might be known; that he was not so perfect in grace as he thought he was. It is good for us to know ourselves, and our own weakness and sinfulness, that we may not be conceited, or self-confident, but may always live in dependence upon Divine grace. We know not the corruption of our own hearts, nor what we shall do if God leaves us to ourselves. His sin was, that his heart was lifted up. What need have great men, and good men, and useful men, to study their own infirmities and follies, and their obligations to free grace, that they may never think highly of themselves; but beg earnestly of God, that he will always keep them humble! Hezekiah made a bad return to God for his favours, by making even those favours the food and fuel of his pride. Let us shun the occasions of sin: let us avoid the company, the amusements, the books, yea, the very sights that may administer to sin. Let us commit ourselves continually to God's care and protection; and beg of him never to leave us nor forsake us. Blessed be God, death will soon end the believer's conflict; then pride and every sin will be abolished. He will no more be tempted to withhold the praise which belongs to the God of his salvation.

INTRODUCTION TO 2 CHRONICLES 32

This chapter relates Sennacherib's invasion of the land of Judah, the preparations Hezekiah made to resist him, and the encouragement he gave his people to trust in the Lord, 2Ch 32:1-8 the messages and letters Sennacherib sent to Hezekiah and his subjects, full of arrogance and blasphemy, to solicit them to deliver up Jerusalem to him, 2Ch 32:9-19 the destruction of his army by an angel, and the deliverance of the Jews at the prayers of Hezekiah and Isaiah, 2Ch 32:20-23 the sin Hezekiah fell into after this, and his recovery from a fit of illness; but, upon his humiliation for it, wrath was averted, 2Ch 32:24-26 and the chapter is concluded with an account of his honours, riches, and exploits, and of his death and burial, 2Ch 32:27-33.
