1 Luóbōān lái dào Yēlùsǎlĕng , zhāo jù Yóudà jiā hé Biànyǎmǐn jiā , gōng shí bā wàn rén , dōu shì tiānxuǎn de zhànshì , yào yǔ Yǐsèliè rén zhēng zhàn , hǎo jiāng guó duó huí zaì guī zìjǐ .

2 Dàn Yēhéhuá de huà líndào shén rén Shìmǎyǎ shuō ,

3 Nǐ qù gàosu Suǒluómén de érzi Yóudà wáng Luóbōān hé zhù Yóudà , Biànyǎmǐn de Yǐsèliè zhòngrén shuō ,

4 Yēhéhuá rúcǐ shuō , nǐmen bùkĕ shang qù yǔ nǐmen de dìxiōng zhēng zhàn , gè guī gè jiā qù ba . yīnwei zhè shì chūyú wǒ . zhòngrén jiù tīng cóng Yēhéhuá de huà guī huí , bù qù yǔ Yéluóbōān zhēng zhàn .

5 Luóbōān zhù zaì Yēlùsǎlĕng , zaì Yóudà dì xiū zhú chéngyì ,

6 Wèi bǎo zhàng xiū zhú Bólìhéng , Yǐtǎn , Tígēyà ,

7 Bǎisù , Suōgē , Yàdùlán ,

8 Jiātè , Mǎlìshā , Xīfú ,

9 Yàduōláiyīn , Làjí , Yàxījiā ,

11 Luóbōān yòu jiāngù gè chù de bǎo zhàng , zaì qízhōng ānzhì jūnzhǎng , yòu yùbeì xià liángshi , yóu , jiǔ .

12 Tā zaì gè chéng lǐ yùbeì dùnpái hé qiāng , qiĕ shǐ chéng jíqí jiāngù . Yóudà hé Biànyǎmǐn dōu guī le tā .

13 Yǐsèliè quán dì de jìsī hé Lìwèi rén dōu cóng sìfāng lái guī Luóbōān .

14 Lìwèi rén piĕ xià tāmende jiāo yĕ hé chǎnyè , lái dào Yóudà yǔ Yēlùsǎlĕng , shì yīn Yéluóbōān hé tāde érzi jùjué tāmen , bù xǔ tāmen gōng jìsī zhífèn shìfèng Yēhéhuá .

15 Yé Luóbōān wèi qiū tán , wèi guǐ mó ( yuánwén zuò gōng shānyáng ) , wèi zìjǐ suǒ zhùzào de niúdú shèlì jìsī .

16 Yǐsèliè gè zhīpaì zhōng , fán lìdéng xīnyì xúnqiú Yēhéhuá Yǐsèliè shén de , dōu suícóng Lìwèi rén , lái dào Yēlùsǎlĕng jìsì Yēhéhuá tāmen lièzǔ de shén .

17 Zhèyàng , jiù jiāngù Yóudà guó , shǐ Suǒluómén de érzi Luóbōān qiángshèng sān nián , yīnwei tāmen sān nián zūnxíng Dàwèi hé Suǒluómén de dào .

18 Luóbōān qǔ Dàwèi érzi Yélìmó de nǚér Mǎhālā wèi qī , yòu qǔ Yēxī érzi Yǐlìyē de nǚér Yàbǐhái wèi qī .

19 Cóng tā shēng le jǐ gè érzi , jiù shì Yēwūshī , Shìmǎlìyǎ, Sǎhǎn .

20 Hòulái yòu qǔ Yēshālóng de nǚér Mǎjiā ( shí sān zhāng èr jié zuò wū liè de nǚér Mǐgāiyǎ ) , cóng tā shēng le Yàbǐyǎ , Yàtaì , Xìsǎ , Shìluómì .

21 Luóbōān qǔ shí bā gè qī , lì liù shí gè qiè , shēng èr shí bā gè érzi , liù shí gè nǚér . tā què aì Yēshālóng de nǚér Mǎjiā , bǐ aì biéde qī qiè gèng shén .

22 Luóbōān lì Mǎjiā de érzi Yàbǐyǎ zuò taì zǐ , zaì tā dìxiōng zhōng wéi shǒu , yīnwei xiǎng yào lì tā jiēxù zuò wáng .

23 Luóbōān bàn shì jīng míng , shǐ tā zhòng zǐ fēnsàn zaì Yóudà hé Biànyǎmǐn quán dì gè jiāngù chéng lǐ , yòu cì tāmen xǔduō liángshi , wèi tāmen duō xún qīzi .

Lìdaìzhìxià 11 Commentary

Chapter 11

Rehoboam forbidden to war against Israel. (1-12) The priests and Levites find refuge in Judah. (13-23)

Verses 1-12 A few good words might have prevented the rebellion of Rehoboam's subjects; but all the force of his kingdom cannot bring them back. And it is in vain to contend with the purpose of God, when it is made known to us. Even those who are destitute of true faith, will at times pay some regard to the word of God, and be kept by it from wrong actions, to which they are prone by nature.

Verses 13-23 When the priests and Levites came to Jerusalem, the devout, pious Israelites followed them. Such as set their hearts to seek the Lord God of Israel, left the inheritance of their fathers, and went to Jerusalem, that they might have free access to the altar of God, and be out of the temptation to worship the calves. That is best for us, which is best for our souls; in all our choices, religious advantages must be sought before all outward conveniences. Where God's faithful priests are, his faithful people should be. And when it has been proved that we are willing to renounce our worldly interests, so far as we are called to do so for the sake of Christ and his gospel, we have good evidence that we are truly his disciples. And it is the interest of a nation to protect religion and religious people.

In this chapter are related the preparations Rehoboam made to regain the ten tribes that revolted from him, but was forbid making the attempt by a prophet of the Lord, which he paid a regard unto, 2Ch 11:1-4, the fortification of several cities in Judah and Benjamin for his defence, 2Ch 11:5-12, the resort of several priests and Levites to him from Jeroboam, which served to strengthen his kingdom, 2Ch 11:13-17, and an account of his wives, and of his children, and of his disposal of them, 2Ch 11:18-23.
