The Holy Spirit as a Dove - Bible Verses

"And John bore witness: “I saw the Spirit descend from heaven like a dove, and it remained on him." - John 1:32

"And the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form, like a dove; and a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.” - Luke 3:22

Doves are found throughout the Bible in a literal and symbolic way, from Noah and the Ark to the baptism of Jesus Christ. A common expression of the Holy Spirit throughout Christian history has been a dove, as was used to symbolize the Holy Spirit in the Gospel accounts of Jesus' baptism.
