Prayer is one of the most important disciplines or activities you engage in as a Christian. Yet as much as we may talk about it and hopefully engage in it, I fully believe there is a truth about prayer that many people miss.

We spend a lot of time worrying if we are doing it right, saying the right words, even wondering if we are in the right position. While there is nothing wrong with thinking about these things, there is something greater and far more important when it comes to prayer. That one thing is relationship.

In Scripture, fire can be used as a form of judgment but it is also used in purification or refining. With that being the case, what are the things God would turn his attention to consuming or burning away?

If you ever have a conversation about the Bible with someone, especially someone who is a skeptic or unbeliever, the question of contradictions in the Bible may come up. Some people have legitimate concerns over these things while some people use it as an excuse. They may say something to the effect of “I don’t read the Bible because there are contradictions.” Many people who say this have never read the Bible but are simply using this as a validation for not reading it.

This statement however does lead to the question, are there contradictions in the Bible? This is a valid question and let me give you the quick, short answer which is no. However, there are passages and texts that may appear to be in contradiction and those passage are worth exploring.

Many people are worried about the mark of the beast these days. Whether they fear it will come from a vaccine, or some other source, many are concerned that they will be tricked into taking the mark. Today I want to put your mind at ease because none of this is true.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19).

This Scripture is commonly known as The Great Commission. If you know Jesus as Savior, then you have been tasked with going into the world and making disciples of all the nations. This is truly a great responsibility and one that will continue until Jesus comes.

The question that comes to mind is what is a disciple and why is it even necessary to make them? Discipleship is the next step after preaching the Gospel. It is the process of helping someone go from convert to follower. For everyone who comes to faith in Christ, this is the progression that Jesus expects. So let’s look a little closer at what a disciple is.

This verse speaks to the dilemma that everyone who chooses to follow God faces, how to trust and how to choose. We all have decisions to make, and yet this Proverb is clearly stating that you should not trust your own thinking or reasoning.

Christmas is a unique time in the world. It's the only time of the year we hear songs about Jesus, our King of Kings, on the radio, in department stores, and on everyone's tongue. The world loves to celebrate the Jesus of Christmas! But what about the Jesus of Easter? Why are people not as quick to celebrate him then?

Ruben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Zebulun, Issachar, Dan, Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Joseph, Benjamin. Just who were these 12 men, and what is their significance of their 12 Tribes? These names and their ancestors show up throughout the Bible, so it's important to know who they are and what they mean.

The Apostle Paul had a conversion that was nothing short of miraculous. As Saul, he was infamous for oppressing the early church. But God convicted his heart and made him a powerful voice for the Gospel. It is because of this that Paul says in Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile." Can you say the same?

Whenever you write something that mentions anything political there is a risk people will not hear what you are trying to say. By nature, politics and elections are divisive, often leading to division and disunity. This past election season has been no different. 

Today in America we are more divided than ever – and this started way before the election. The tragedy of this election season is not the outcome, whether you agree or disagree with the results. The tragedy is what this election has done to those who belong to the body of Christ. To be blunt and honest, we have behaved no differently than those who don’t know Jesus. This is the real tragedy. This is what breaks my heart and more importantly I am sure it breaks God’s heart.

"And the Word became flesh." Have you ever stopped to think why was it necessary for Jesus to come in the flesh? I am going to present to you seven reasons which I believe will help to answer this question.

What exactly is an Elder? In both 1 Timothy and Titus, the author lays out the qualifications of a church Elder. Leadership is an important role in the church body, and not something to be taken lightly. So if you are considering a leadership position, or are curious about how your leaders got where they are, take a look at what the Bible says.

The phrase "God works in mysterious ways" is not found anywhere in Scripture. But, does that mean it isn't true? To investigate this, and all claims about the character of God, we must look closely at what is biblical fact. Only through Scripture can we determine if this phrase is accurate or not.

The King James Bible is a favorite translation for many believers. It is certainly the oldest version we still have in circulation. But where exactly did it come from? Let's take a look at who King James was, how this book came about, and why it has stood the test of time.
