Chūāijíjì 38

1 Tā yòng zàojiá mù zuò Fánjì tán , shì sìfāng de , cháng wǔ zhǒu , kuān wǔ zhǒu , gāo sān zhǒu ,

2 Zaì tán de sì guǎijiǎo shàng zuò sì gè jiǎo , yǔ tán jiē lián yī kuaì , yòng tóng bǎ tán bāoguǒ .

3 Tā zuò tán shàng de pén , chǎnzi , pánzi , ròu chā zǐ , huǒ dǐng , zhè yīqiè qìjù dōu shì yòng tóng zuò de .

4 Yòu wéi tán zuò yī gè tóng wǎng , ān zaì tán sìmiàn de wéi yào bǎn yǐxià , cóng xià dádào tán de bàn yào .

5 Wéi tóng wǎng de sì jiǎo zhù sì gè huánzi , zuòwéi chuān gàng de yòng chǔ .

6 Yòng zàojiá mù zuò gàng , yòng tóng bāoguǒ ,

7 Bǎ gàng chuān zaì tán liǎng páng de huánzi neì , yòng yǐ tái tán , bìng yòng bǎn zuò tán , tán shì kòng de .

8 Tā yòng tóng zuò xǐzhuó pén hé pén zuò , shì yòng huì mù mén qián cìhou de fùrén zhī jìngzi zuò de .

9 Tā zuò zhàngmù de yuànzi . yuànzi de nán miàn yòng niǎn de xì má zuò wéizi , kuān yī bǎi zhǒu .

10 Wéizi de zhùzi èr shí gēn , daì mǎo de tóng zuò èr shí gè , zhùzi shàng de gōuzǐ hé gānzi dōu shì yòng yínzi zuò de .

23 Yǔ tā tóng gōng de yǒu dàn zhīpaì zhōng Yàxīsāmā de érzi Yàhélìyàbó , tā shì diāokè jiàng , yòu shì qiǎo jiàng , yòu néng yòng lánsè , zǐse , zhūhóngsē xiàn , hé xì má xiùhuā .

24 Wéi shèng suǒ yīqiè gōngzuò shǐyòng suǒ xiàn de jīnzi , àn shèng suǒ de píng , yǒu èr shí jiǔ tā lián de bìng qī bǎi sān shí Shĕkèlè .

25 Huì zhōng beì shǔ de rén suǒ chū de yínzi , àn shèng suǒ de píng , yǒu yī bǎi/bó tā lián dé bìng yī qiā qī bǎi qī shí wǔ Shĕkèlè .

26 Fán guò qù guī nàxiē beì shǔ zhī rén de , cóng èr shí suì yǐwaì , yǒu liù shí wàn líng sān qiā wǔ bǎi wǔ shí rén . àn shèng suǒ de píng , mĕi rén chū yín bàn Shĕkèlè , jiù shì yī bǐ jiā .

27 Yòng nà yī bǎi tā lián de yínzi zhùzào shèng suǒ daì mǎo de zuò , hé màn zōng zhùzi daì mǎo de zuò , yī bǎi tā lián de gòng yī bǎi daì mǎo de zuò , mĕi daì mǎo de zuò yòng yī tā lián de .

28 Yòng nà yī qiā qī bǎi qī shí wǔ Shĕkèlè yínzi zuò zhùzi shàng de gōuzǐ , bāoguǒ zhù dǐng bìng zhùzi shàng de gānzi .

29 Suǒ xiàn de tóng yǒu qī shí tā lián dé bìng èr qiā sì bǎi Shĕkèlè .

30 Yòng zhè tóng zuò huì mù mén daì mǎo de zuò hé tóng tán , bìng tán shàng de tóng wǎng hé tán de yīqiè qìjù ,

31 Bìng yuànzi sìwéi daì mǎo de zuò hé yuàn mén daì mǎo de zuò , yǔ zhàngmù yīqiè de juézi hé yuànzi sìwéi suǒyǒude juézi .

Chapter 38

The brazen altar and laver. (1-8) The court. (9-20) The offerings of the people. (21-31)

Verses 1-8 In all ages of the church there have been some persons more devoted to God, more constant in their attendance upon his ordinances, and more willing to part even with lawful things, for his sake, than others. Some women, devoted to God and zealous for the tabernacle worship, expressed zeal by parting with their mirrors, which were polished plates of brass. Before the invention of looking-glasses, these served the same purposes.

Verses 9-20 The walls of the court being of curtains only, intimated that the state of the Jewish church itself was movable and changeable; and in due time to be taken down and folded up, when the place of the tent should be enlarged, and its cords lengthened, to make room for the Gentile world.

Verses 21-31 The foundation of massy pieces of silver showed the solidity and purity of the truth upon which the church is founded. Let us regard the Lord Jesus Christ while reading of the furniture of the tabernacle. While looking at the altar of burnt-offering, let us see Jesus. In him, his righteousness, and salvation, is a full and sufficient offering for sin. In the laver of regeneration, by his Holy Spirit, let our souls be washed, and they shall be clean; and as the people offered willingly, so may our souls be made willing. Let us be ready to part with any thing, and count all but loss to win Christ.

This chapter is a continuation of the account of the making of the things belonging to the tabernacle, particularly the altar of burnt offering, Ex 38:1-7 the laver of brass, and the things it was made of, Ex 38:8 the court and its hangings, pillars, sockets, hooks and pins, Ex 38:9-20 then follows an account of the quantities of gold, silver, and brass, expended in the making of the several things appertaining to the sanctuary, Ex 38:21-31.
