1 Nǐmen bùkĕ zuò shénme xū wú de shénxiàng , bùkĕ lì diāokè de ǒuxiàng huò shì zhù xiàng , yĕ bùkĕ zaì nǐmen de dì shàng ān shénme zàn chéng de shí xiàng , xiàng tā guìbaì , yīnwei wǒ shì Yēhéhuá nǐmen de shén .

2 Nǐmen yào shǒu wǒde ānxīrì , jìng wǒde shèng suǒ . wǒ shì Yēhéhuá .

3 Nǐmen ruò zūnxíng wǒde lǜ lì , jǐn shǒu wǒde jièmìng ,

4 Wǒ jiù gĕi nǐmen jiàng xià shí yǔ , jiào dì shēng chū tǔchǎn , tiānyĕ de shùmù jié guǒzi .

5 Nǐmen dǎ liángshi yào dá dào zhāi pútào de shíhou , zhāi pútào yào zhāi dào sǎzhǒng de shíhou , bìngqiĕ yào chī de bǎozú , zaì nǐmen de dì shàng ānrán jūzhù .

6 Wǒ yào cì píngān zaì nǐmen de dì shàng , nǐmen tǎng wò , wú rén jīngxià . wǒ yào jiào è shòu cóng nǐmen de dì shàng xī miè , dāo jiàn yĕ bì bú jīngguò nǐmen de dì .

7 Nǐmen yào zhuīgǎn chóudí , tāmen bì dǎo zaì nǐmen dāo xià .

8 Nǐmen wǔ gèrén yào zhuīgǎn yī bǎi rén , yī bǎi rén yào zhuīgǎn yī wàn rén , chóudí bì dǎo zaì nǐmen dāo xià .

9 Wǒ yào juàngù nǐmen , shǐ nǐmen shēng yǎng zhòngduō , yĕ yào yǔ nǐmen jiāndéng suǒ lì de yuē .

10 Nǐmen yào chī chén liáng , yòu yīn xīn liáng nuó kāi chén liáng .

11 Wǒ yào zaì nǐmen zhōngjiān lì wǒde zhàngmù , wǒde xīn yĕ bú yànwù nǐmen .

12 Wǒ yào zaì nǐmen zhōngjiān xíng zǒu , wǒ yào zuò nǐmen de shén , nǐmen yào zuò wǒde zǐmín .

13 Wǒ shì Yēhéhuá nǐmen de shén , céng jiàng nǐmen cóng Āijí dì lǐng chūlai , shǐ nǐmen bù zuò Āijí rén de núpú , wǒ yĕ zhé duàn nǐmen suǒ fù de è , jiào nǐmen tǐng shēn ér zǒu .

14 Nǐmen ruò bù tīng cóng wǒ , bù zūnxíng wǒde jièmìng ,

15 Yànqì wǒde lǜ lì , yànwù wǒde diǎnzhāng , bù zūnxíng wǒ yīqiè de jièmìng , beìqì wǒde yuē ,

16 Wǒ daì nǐmen jiù yào zhèyàng , wǒ bì méngdéng jīng huáng , jiào yǎnmù gān biĕ , jīng shén xiāo hào de laó bìng rè bìng xiá zhì nǐmen . nǐmen yĕ yào báibái dì sǎzhǒng , yīnwei chóudí yào chī nǐmen suǒ zhòng de .

17 Wǒ yào xiàng nǐmen biàn liǎn , nǐmen jiù yào baì zaì chóudí miànqián . hèn è nǐmen de , bì xiá guǎn nǐmen , wú rén zhuīgǎn , nǐmen què yào taópǎo .

18 Nǐmen yīn zhèxie shì ruò hái bú tīng cóng wǒ , wǒ jiù yào wèi nǐmen de zuì jiā qī beì chéngfá nǐmen .

19 Wǒ bì duàn jué nǐmen yīn shìlì ér yǒude jiāoào , yòu yào shǐ fù nǐmen de tiān rú tiĕ , zǎi nǐmen de dì rú tóng .

20 Nǐmen yào báibái dì laólì , yīnwei nǐmen de dì bù chū tǔchǎn , qí shàng de shùmù yĕ bù jié guǒzi .

21 Nǐmen xíngshì ruò yǔ wǒ fǎnduì , bù kĕn tīng cóng wǒ , wǒ jiù yào àn nǐmen de zuì jiā qī beì jiàng zāi yǔ nǐmen .

22 Wǒ yĕ yào dǎfa yĕdì de zǒushòu dào nǐmen zhōngjiān , qiāng chī nǐmen de érnǚ , tūn miè nǐmen de shēngchù , shǐ nǐmen de rén shù jiǎnshǎo , dàolù huāngliáng .

23 Nǐmen yīn zhèxie shì ruò réng bù gǎi zhēng guī wǒ , xíngshì yǔ wǒ fǎnduì ,

24 Wǒ jiù yào xíngshì yǔ nǐmen fǎnduì , yīn nǐmen de zuì jī dá nǐmen qī cì .

25 Wǒ yòu yào shǐ dāo jiàn líndào nǐmen , bàofù nǐmen beì yuē de chóu , jùjí nǐmen zaì gè chéng neì , jiàng wēnyì zaì nǐmen zhōngjiān , yĕ bì jiàng nǐmen jiāo zaì chóudí de shǒu zhōng .

26 Wǒ yào zhé duàn nǐmen de zhàng , jiù shì duàn jué nǐmen de liáng . nàshí , bì yǒu shí gè nǚrén zaì yī gè lú zǐ gĕi nǐmen kǎo bǐng , àn fènliang chèng gĕi nǐmen , nǐmen yào chī , yĕ chī bù bǎo .

27 Nǐmen yīn zhè yīqiè de shì ruò bù tīng cóng wǒ , què xíngshì yǔ wǒ fǎnduì ,

28 Wǒ jiù yào fà liè nù , xíngshì yǔ nǐmen fǎnduì , yòu yīn nǐmen de zuì chéngfá nǐmen qī cì .

29 Bìngqiĕ nǐmen yào chī érzi de ròu , yĕ yào chī nǚér de ròu .

30 Wǒ yòu yào huǐhuaì nǐmen de qiū tán , kǎn xià nǐmen de rì xiàng , bǎ nǐmen de shī shǒu rēng zaì nǐmen ǒuxiàng de shēnshang , wǒde xīn yĕ bì yànwù nǐmen .

31 Wǒ yào shǐ nǐmen de chéngyì biàn wéi huāngliáng , shǐ nǐmen de zhòng shèng suǒ chéngwéi huāng cháng , wǒ yĕ bù wén nǐmen xīnxiāng de xiāngqì .

32 Wǒ yào shǐ dì chéngwéi huāng cháng , zhù zaì qí shàng de chóudí jiù yīncǐ chàyì .

33 Wǒ yào bǎ nǐmen sàn zaì liè bāng zhōng , wǒ yĕ yào bá dāo zhuīgǎn nǐmen . nǐmen de dì yào chéngwéi huāng chǎng , nǐmen de chéngyì yào biàn wéi huāngliáng .

34 Nǐmen zaì chóudí zhī dì jūzhù de shíhou , nǐmen de dì huāngliáng yào xiǎngshòu zhòng ānxī , zhèngzaì nàshíhòu , dì yào xiēxi , xiǎngshòu ānxī .

35 Dì duō shí wéi huāng cháng , jiù yào duō shí xiēxi , dì zhèyàng xiēxi , shì nǐmen zhù zaì qí shàng de ānxī nián suǒ bùnéng de de .

36 Zhìyú nǐmen shèngxia de rén , wǒ yào shǐ tāmen zaì chóudí zhī dì xīn jīng dǎnqiè . yèzi beì fēng chuī de xiǎngshēng , yào zhuīgǎn tāmen , tāmen yào taóbì , xiàng rén taóbì dāo jiàn , wú rén zhuīgǎn , què yào diēdǎo .

37 Wú rén zhuīgǎn , tāmen yào bǐcǐ zhuàng diē , xiàng zaì dāo jiàn zhī qián . nǐmen zaì chóudí miànqián yĕ bì zhàn lì bú zhù .

38 Nǐmen yào zaì liè bāng zhōng mièwáng , chóudí zhī dì yào tūn chī nǐmen .

39 Nǐmen shèngxia de rén bì yīn zìjǐ de zuìniè hé zǔzong de zuìniè zaì chóudí zhī dì xiāomiè .

40 Tāmen yào chéngrèn zìjǐ de zuì hé tāmen zǔzong de zuì , jiù shì gānfàn wǒde nà zuì , bìngqiĕ chéngrèn zìjǐ xíngshì yǔ wǒ fǎnduì ,

41 Wǒ suǒyǐ xíngshì yǔ tāmen fǎnduì , bǎ tāmen daì dào chóudí zhī dì . nàshí , tāmen wèi shòu gēlǐ de xīn ruò qiābēi le , tāmen yĕ fú le zuìniè de xíngfá ,

42 Wǒ jiù yào jìniàn wǒ yǔ Yǎgè suǒ lì de yuē , yǔ Yǐsā suǒ lì de yuē , yǔ Yàbólāhǎn suǒ lì de yuē , bìng yào jìniàn zhè dì .

43 Tāmen líkāi zhè dì , dì zaì huāng feì wú rén de shíhou jiù yào xiǎngshòu ānxī . bìngqiĕ tāmen yào fú zuìniè de xíngfá , yīnwei tāmen yànqì le wǒde diǎnzhāng , xīn zhōng yànwù le wǒde lǜ lì .

44 Suī shì zhèyàng , tāmen zaì chóudí zhī dì , wǒ què bú yànqì tāmen , yĕ bù yànwù tāmen , jiàng tāmen jìn xíng mièjué , yĕ bù beìqì wǒ yǔ tāmen suǒ lì de yuē , yīnwei wǒ shì Yēhéhuá tāmende shén .

45 Wǒ què yào wéi tāmende yuángù jìniàn wǒ yǔ tāmen xiān zǔ suǒ lì de yuē . tāmende xiān zǔ shì wǒ zaì liè bāng rén yǎnqián , cóng Āijí dì lǐng chūlai de , wéi yào zuò tāmende shén . wǒ shì Yēhéhuá .

46 Zhèxie lǜ lì , diǎnzhāng , hé fǎdù shì Yēhéhuá yǔ Yǐsèliè rén zaì Xīnǎi shān jiè zhe Móxī lì de .

Lìwèijì 26 Commentary

Chapter 26

Promises upon keeping the precepts. (1-13) Threatenings against disobedience. (14-39) God promises to remember those that repent. (40-46)

Verses 1-13 This chapter contains a general enforcement of all the laws given by Moses; by promises of reward in case of obedience, on the one hand; and threatenings of punishment for disobedience, on the other. While Israel maintained a national regard to God's worship, sabbaths, and sanctuary, and did not turn aside to idolatry, the Lord engaged to continue to them temporal mercies and religious advantages. These great and precious promises, though they relate chiefly to the life which now is, were typical of the spiritual blessings made sure by the covenant of grace to all believers, through Christ. 1. Plenty and abundance of the fruits of the earth. Every good and perfect gift must be expected from above, from the Father of lights. 2. Peace under the Divine protection. Those dwell in safety, that dwell in God. 3. Victory and success in their wars. It is all one with the Lord to save by many or by few. 4. The increase of their people. The gospel church shall be fruitful. 5. The favour of God, which is the fountain of all Good. 6. Tokens of his presence in and by his ordinances. The way to have God's ordinances fixed among us, is to cleave closely to them. 7. The grace of the covenant. All covenant blessings are summed up in the covenant relation, I will be your God, and ye shall be my people; and they are all grounded upon their redemption. Having purchased them, God would own them, and never cast them off till they cast him off.

Verses 14-39 After God has set the blessing before them which would make them a happy people if they would be obedient, he here sets the curse before them, the evils which would make them miserable, if they were disobedient. Two things would bring ruin. 1. A contempt of God's commandments. They that reject the precept, will come at last to renounce the covenant. 2. A contempt of his corrections. If they will not learn obedience by the things they suffer, God himself would be against them; and this is the root and cause of all their misery. And also, The whole creation would be at war with them. All God's sore judgments would be sent against them. The threatenings here are very particular, they were prophecies, and He that foresaw all their rebellions, knew they would prove so. TEMPORAL judgments are threatened. Those who will not be parted from their sins by the commands of God, shall be parted from them by judgments. Those wedded to their lusts, will have enough of them. SPIRITUAL judgments are threatened, which should seize the mind. They should find no acceptance with God. A guilty conscience would be their continual terror. It is righteous with God to leave those to despair of pardon, who presume to sin; and it is owing to free grace, if we are not left to pine away in the iniquity we were born in, and have lived in.

Verses 40-46 Among the Israelites, persons were not always prosperous or afflicted according to their obedience or disobedience. But national prosperity was the effect of national obedience, and national judgments were brought on by national wickedness. Israel was under a peculiar covenant. National wickedness will end in the ruin of any people, especially where the word of God and the light of the gospel are enjoyed. Sooner or later, sin will be the ruin, as well as the reproach, of every people. Oh that, being humbled for our sins, we might avert the rising storm before it bursts upon us! God grant that we may, in this our day, consider the things which belong to our eternal peace.

Chapter Summary

INTRODUCTION TO LEVITICUS 26

In this chapter, after a repetition of some laws against idolatry, and concerning keeping sabbaths, and reverencing the sanctuary of God, Le 26:1,2; in order to encourage the Israelites to keep the various statutes and commandments in this book, and in the preceding, many promises are made of plenty, and peace, and safety from enemies, and of the presence of God with them, Le 26:3-13; and on the contrary, to such as should despise and break his commandments, the most grievous things are threatened, as diseases of body, destruction by their enemies, barrenness and unfruitfulness of land, the sore judgments of wild beasts, famine, sword, and pestilence, Le 26:14-39; and yet after all, when they should confess their sins, and were humbled for them, the Lord promises to remember the covenant he made with their ancestors, and would deal kindly with them, and not cast them away, and utterly destroy them, Le 26:40-46.
